Knicks · I think the chris smith signing is hurting the team in more ways then a little (page 1)

knicks1248 @ 11/10/2013 2:56 PM
When woodson made a move to cut a worthy player to sign a worthless player, he lost the team.

Now that signing has backfired so bad with tyson going down.

Woodson has clearly loss the team cause he's clearly loss himself, not knowing who to start, not knowing a solid rotation, not knowing your strengths.

You think players don't know when the axe is coming for a coach, look no further then 2 straight blowouts at home to start the season..

Im not sure if the Chris Smith signing has done all that, but Woody has lost me having to see this clown on the bench game after game with that stupid smile on his face...

Im sure woodson was following orders, but it certainly damaged his credibility

I know it may be over his head but Im holding him responsible, he is the coach...

Mike Woodson did not make the final call on Chris Smith

Stop it.

General managers make final personnel decisions.

That is like blaming Mike D'Antoni for throwing in Tim Mozgov to Denver

He has got to speak up, it might be killing us..It's just that simple...Is Chris Smith worth all this..If he can't relate that to whoever is making the call then what can I say...

holfresh @ 11/10/2013 3:13 PM
Chris Smith was on the bench holding Tyson's icepack on his knee..One of the funniest things I seen this year...Kid is worthless and even he knows it...

Nepotism is the trademark of MSG operation.
Corporate bureaucracy is the most damaging thing in our society and Knicks is just a little but clear example of it.
And the Rome will fall... unless we will somehow get read of this people in sport, corporations, and government.

Agree. Its hard to know how much autonomy he has with his team right now. Meeting with Mills and Houston to look at free agent big men and deciding to do nothing when they have Chris Smith on the roster is pretty scary. Woodson wants to win. No way he can support waisting a roster spot. Crazy.

I don't understand how anyone could be blaming Woodson; this is obviously a decision made up the chain, ultimately by Dolan.

IronWillGiroud @ 11/10/2013 5:02 PM
Doesn't matter who you want to blame,

Chris Smith signing is the type of thing that will topple governments.

You just don't do stuff like that, you just don't do it. It has to do with karma/the cosmos/ aliens/ game theory/ and unicorns.

You just don't do stuff like this. It's asking for trouble. It's like don't joke about serious illness. Don't sign players that don't have a basketball role.

You just don't do it. You just don't.

This team is a joke. It's a joke.

The Knicks area joke.

Did you really have to post that big picture of him? Just seeing him gets me angry.

misterearl @ 11/10/2013 6:37 PM
This picture should be reposted by everyone who still cares

That is the point.

Bring back Ike Diogu

I agree, this whole JR thing is killing the team overall..You signed him for 1 mill less then his market value, and you throw in his brother as a incentive.

If you lose JR to FA, you get nothing in return, no S&T, and no money to sign a replacement, and your depth is really suspect.

The knicks hands were tied for the most part, but then you up and fire/demote the GM who put the roster together. What kind of message does that send to the players...

anrst @ 11/10/2013 9:41 PM
it'd be one thing if it was 'Melos brother ...

but its JR's bro...

this is JRs team!

Its worse then Marbury's family with the Knicks and Nets. This guy is on the team. Steph never got any of his brothers on the team and they were probably better than Chris.

Players can be understanding of a lot of things,

what the knicks do is they mess up on so many fronts that it just boggles the players' minds, you don't know what to think anymore.

wtf would you think if you've been with the knicks for a few years? you wouldn't think anything!! how could you?? there is no man in the world that has the brain energy to think this mess through from a player's perspective!!

so you end up just jogging out on the court like you are an illuminati drug zombie and you go through the motions, because what else do you have but the motions?

Allanfan20 @ 11/11/2013 10:44 AM
JR is lucky he even got that contract from us. We really had to sign his brother as an incentive? Yet we are blaming Woodson for this? Really?

Since when does a Knicks head coach have any power like that anyway, besides Isiah? I am willing to bet none. Just remember, Woodson is a guy that gets followed around by a garden employee.

This is a deep organization issue, not a Woodson one.

gunsnewing @ 11/11/2013 10:47 AM
Yea I didn't even want jr back for a cent. On top of signing him we sign his brother? Fck this organization
