Knicks · I'm curious on other teams.... (page 1)

Does the star player speak for the rest of the team most of the time , or does reporters go to some of the role players and the 3rd string back ups for information interviews ?

Anthony said Monday’s film session was a jarring one.

“The day after is always the hardest day, just trying to get people to stop thinking about it, trying to move on and get over it,” Anthony said. “But overall as far as the practice went, it was a good practice. But as far as the mood goes, it was just one of them days you’re trying to get over it, trying to forget that game, trying to figu
re out what was going on. A long film session. It’s a long day.’’

“You’ve got to be irritated. You’ve got to be embarrassed at a game like that on your home court,’’ Anthony said. “We lost a game, but I said it last night, the way we lost the game, the fashion we lost the game, it’s got to be embarrassing.

I would love to hear what World Peace-Pablo or Udirah or Tim Hardaway Jr and Cole Aldrich has to say about the lost to the Spurs.

Lets pick it a part:

He never says what he feels, he just says:

"You’ve got to be irritated. You’ve got to be embarrassed at a game like that on your home court,’’ Anthony said. “We lost a game, but I said it last night, the way we lost the game, the fashion we lost the game, it’s got to be embarrassing. "

"You got to"......but is he?

Its a weird way of saying something.

Is he just saying it because thats what fans want to hear? they are 2-4. Not the end of the world. Lots of good teams are not clicking right away.

The owner is freaking out and fans are freaking out. So its about perception and revenue?

What if they can't turn it around? I guess we just draft a better player and then get better over time? But wait, we can't do it that way!

Oh Shyt! PANIC!!!!!!!!!

I wish the owner would stand up and take accountabilty for his actions instead of always blaming others.

Other teams? Read up on it. Our guys have MSG political officers (moles) following them and helping them with sound bites. some coach's are allowed to speak also.

IronWillGiroud @ 11/12/2013 11:13 AM
^ because he's a dumbass, what do you want him to say?

Martin said it was “difficult’’ to sit during the San Antonio mess.

Here's a quote from a cagy veteran

“That’s been y’all and Woody,” Martin said with an edge in his voice of the platoon and minute restriction guidelines. “I’ve told you all I’m fine. Every time you ask me, I’ll give you the same answer, I’m fine whatever the minutes is.’’

gunsnewing @ 11/12/2013 3:15 PM
Don't worry playa it will be over for Woodson tomorrow night in Atlanta

Denver had him on game and minute restrictions a few years ago. his knees are older now and the knicks have him on restriction..

kenyon needs to realize that he is on restriction by two different teams for a reason..

The funny thing is the Knicks are saving these guys for the playoffs. At this rate they may not make the playoffs. If they do they will get blitz by a top 4 team. Even with a fresh Amare and kmart

The flip side is a team that gets there by over-fighting for position all regular season and gets pummeled in the playoffs (last year?). The minutes problem will need constant delicate care all season. Other guys need to step up, hence why that Chris Smith signing is the most ridiculous thing they could have done. There is just no getting over that.

this is carmelo anthony so it is not weird.

he can't refer to himself in the first person when it comes to personal responsibility-- he doesn't use the language that a leader does, taking ownership of the team's failures.

he is the same as dolan.

"I'm upset with myself and I'm upset with us as a team," Felton said. "We've just got to play harder, I've got to play harder. It starts with me, I'm the point guard. I'm the guy on the ball [and] I've got to play harder, it starts with me. Everybody else has to play harder as well. ... It's going to start [Wednesday night]."

More concerning for Felton? He's shooting 37.5 percent from the field in six games and just 24 percent from beyond the arc.

One issue for Felton is a lingering left hamstring injury. Felton first suffered the injury in the preseason and said Tuesday he's playing at less than 100 percent.

"No excuses," Felton said. "I'm not 100 percent but no excuses. I've got to play harder, plain and simple."

SHOULDN'T HE BE SAYING SMARTER ?

gunsnewing @ 11/13/2013 7:46 AM
I have a feeling JR is starting for Felton
Nalod @ 11/13/2013 10:15 AM

Let JR play into shape and don't panic.

Pablo needs to come off the bench.

Chris Smith got his money, now cut his a.ss.

Kenyon Martin needs to be quiet and stop talking to the press about his minutes. If he is not happy let him walk. He is insurance.

If Woodson gets fired then what? What Mystical motivater awaits that will turn the team around? Melo and George Karl won't fly, not in an opt out year. Lionel Hollins? Nice job in Memphis but does he have the pieces to do it here? That roster he had was nice. Its not like getting a player to step in, we talking the coach!

This makes sense to me. Although through the first 3 games he looked great to me, especially game 1. I'm just really surprised by the team's lack of ball movement and assists. If that's Woody's game plan, I'm at a loss for words. A team can't win without sharing the ball.

They can just watch the tape and look at how Spurs play.
It doesn't make sense to look at what Knics did - garbage is garbage.
Spurs players have nothing to prove. They just play bbal at a highest level as a team game.
Its the symphony of the basketball. The beautiful thing.
Melo, JR, Felton, Bargs, they all are dummies, talented gifted dummies wasting their talent under the order of clueless bureaucrats.
Move the ball, move yourself, find the open man, stay in front of your man on defense, use your brain.

It's a fool's game to try to compare any team in the league to the Spurs. They are a long-lived dynasty and one of the greatest cohesive teams with one of the longest solid runs in NBA/ABA history.

playa2 @ 11/13/2013 7:12 PM
Watch how the Spurs play when Timmy retires and Pop goes sailing off into the sunset.

Every new player goes with the flow, whatever style that Pop and Timmy MADE THE STANDARD.
