Knicks · JR Spliff Starts and says he's a vocal leader... (page 1)

So JR is starting tonight. And goes on the record to say he's a leader. I don't mean to clown on the dude, he was pivotal in our 54 wins last season, but he choked in the playoffs... again, had an abysmal shooting performance his first game back this year, looks like he's trying to grow out a DL Hughley, got suspended for THREE marijuana offenses, got clowned by Rihanna, can't stay out of the club, dyed his hair red and blonde in the offseason, tweets like a bo-tard, and posted pics of himself blowing JR spliffs on said bo-tard twitter page.

If he is a leader of this team, then... well... I don't know. Maybe he found God or Jah (more likely). Guess I'll start praying too.

coincides with the Shumpert trade rumors.

Ha ha, how has it taken this long for someone to come up with the name JR Spliff?

I actually like JR- I'm not bothered about him smoking weed (I'd be a hypocrite!), always seems like a nice enough person. Partying in the playoffs annoyed me, and sometimes his play infuriates me, but He's a player I don't have a problem rooting for.

He ain't a starter though, he's a sixth man.

the playoffs was inexcusable. He shot 33% in 11 playoff games and took 6 threes a game and shot 27% from downtown. Just when you think you can get behind him he literally shoots us out of conference finals matchup with the Heat. I hate him. When he does something in the playoffs worthy I will change my tune. Until then him and his donkey brother can eat ass. Google cleartest! You have to fail 3 TIMES in the NBA to get suspended for weed. What a tool!

Dude, I don't care who smokes what. But when you violate the league policy and get caught 3 times, and you're just coming back from a 5 game suspension, you're not leading shit.
Plus, I'm suspecting that whatever it is he's doing it goes way beyond spliffs. The way he looked in the playoffs, something entirely worse was afoot.

Exactly

As long as Dolan like da pipe man, JR could care less what you or I think of him. He cashes his checks just like you on payday, unfortunately his checks are bigger than ours combined.

He can still shoot but I question his ability with speed/quickness and NBA shape/legs to run/defend/rebound and penetrate/facilitate/ at the high level, with HIGH ASS and LOW TO ratio he was playing at in the late season run
He didn't even score or attempt many shots at one point either and was highly effective for assist, FG%, REB's, DEF, and a pair of steals

but it can be a blessing in a sense as well because JR should not be taking many off balance, off the dribble shots anyway, as they are poor shots, especially when NOT needed with much time left, he is a very good shooter but like Melo is too confident in their ability to make shots including poor % shots
So basically I am saying he should take more shots in which he has room to square up and set his legs

When he gets back in NBA caliber shape....
Hopefully he will be able to play with that ATTACKING style, with AB to spread the floor like Copeland/Wallace did, because their OFF abilities compliment each other very well
JR showed he was capable of being more than just a 6th man type role/scorer and hopefully it wasn't a 1year fluke
However he never got that opportunity to do so as he loss confidence vs better defenders, more importantly, the DEF played him differently when teams covered the paint and Woodson did not put the shooters in to spread the floor

We won't be a good DEF team, our players are just too old, and simply don't have that ability as a whole, we often need too much HELP way too easily on too many positions, we need a different philosophy and better rotation to hide it, while being a higher FG % team with consistency and understanding on how to recover for positions on REB and DEF for transition
