Knicks · JR STARTS TWITTER FIGHT WITH jENNINGS ABOUT HIS LIL BRO.LOL (page 1)

J.R. Smith must be making his family proud.

The reigning Sixth Man of the Year spent Wednesday night defending his little brother and appeared to threaten Brandon Jennings on Twitter after the Detroit Pistons guard became the latest person to criticize whether the never-used Chris Smith should even be in the NBA.

According to ESPN, Jennings posted the following tweet, which was later deleted:

“Wait wait wait JR smith brother is in the NBA but @PoohJeter & @BBROWNLAU isn’t. Call me hater but not Rollin!!!”

Following the Knicks’ win over the Hawks, J.R. fired back with a tweet (also deleted), in which he said he would send his “street homies” to Detroit, according to ESPN.

Smith then wrote:

Jennings downplayed the incident.

Chris, whose spot on the roster is believed to have been secured because of a package deal by the Knicks in re-signing his big brother to a contract in the offseason, said he was not going to get into a “twitter war” or play “kid games.”

Smith, who hasn’t registered one minute of playing time this season and is slated to head to the D-League on Nov. 22, is apparently amused by the belief that his brother is the only reason he’s in the NBA, though coach Mike Woodson acknowledged J.R.’s presence influenced the team to keep Chris.

“If they hate then let them hate and watch the money pile up‼️ everyone have a blessed day from yours true.. Jr smiths brother lmao…”

Due to the new collective bargaining agreement, Chris is costing the Knicks roughly $2 million –his $491,000 minimum contract and $1.6 million in luxury tax — as the 15th man on the team. He is also preventing the Knicks from acquiring a much-needed inside presence with Tyson Chandler out for at least a month with a fractured right fibula. Chris’ contract is guaranteed for the season.

To me it shows how bad Jennings wanted to be a KNICK.

Keep it coming. Knicks are one step closer to imploding

1) What did Smith write playa?

2) Not interested in having Jennings here.

Jennings was 100% right. Chris Smith is one of the worst players i ahve ever seen get a guaranteed roster spot. Hell he was one of the worst players in the summer league

jr smith on lin contract talks last year:

“I think some guys take it personal, because they’ve been doing it longer and haven’t received any reward for it yet. I think it’s a tough subject to touch on for a lot of guys.”

and has the nerve to talk up his bro now?

CrushAlot @ 11/14/2013 6:04 PM
He needs to stay off social media. That should have been a clause in his contract. MSG needs to enforce the media policy with JR.
arkrud @ 11/14/2013 6:29 PM
Interesting if JR street "brothers" will go and bit the sh..it out Jennings will he be suspended?
smackeddog @ 11/14/2013 6:34 PM
Nba and the media take players twitter accounts way to seriously- who gives a shit?!

Did anyone catch that he is scheduled to go the dleague on 11/22? If he goes as a Knick it doesn't open a roster spot up but if he is waived and then signed by the bayhawks the knicks could bring up Tyler.

I'm hopeful that he just gets waived.

I believe I read his salary was guaranteed so he could double dip by signing with the bayhawks.

I hope they let his brother play in a blowout. That would be entertaining.

JR is only tolerable when he is playing out of his mind. Otherwise he is a distraction. He is a foolish young man.
Jennings was wrong to call him out and JR was dumber to threaten him. Im sure it was nothing but fools tawk but this is the kind of stuff that costs this guy millions of dollors. For all the PR gestapo msg has you'd think this idiot would get it thru his thick skull by now.

We only love JR because he plays basketball and if he can't do that well, then he is irrelevant.

MSG sells the starphuch but it can get ugly if we don't return to .500 soon.

Knicksfan @ 11/15/2013 8:48 AM
Congrats management on another stupid turmoil that wasn't necessary. Really think nobody realises the idiocy behind the Chris Smith signing? You have just enabled Bad J.R. of more power. He, the streaky, inconsistent and undisciplined player.

This franchise is embarrassing.
