Is it me or does he look disinterested and playing in spurts? In some ways I can't blame him. Kid has been jerked around between positions and is always discussed in trade rumors. Works his sss off to get back from serious knee injury and then is put on lil Jimmy's blacklist. Wish I could see the intense kid who dug in on on Rose and Pierce instead of this one who reaches and seems to be going through the motions. The talent is still there if you saw Atlanata game but simply not being employed. I sense he's ticked at the org and Woodson not taking a strong stance supporting and utilizing him properly
OVERRATED-Clap,Clap,Clap-Clap-Clap...
The troubling thing with him is that he's completely regressing on D.
Interesting article (well this bit):
“There’s nothing I can do about it,’’ Shumpert said after Thursday’s 109-106 Houston heartbreaker. “Got to keep playing and limit distractions. I just have to play hard.’’Asked if he wants to stay a Knick, Shumpert said, “I just want to play ball and try to win. We’re in a slump at home and trying to fix that.’’
And this:
Shumpert has fallen out of favor with the organization and Woodson, who has been hypercritical of Shumpert since preseason. One person connected to the team feels he is viewed as a “head case’’ by some of his superiors.

can't blame Shump for wanting out/ not caring about staying. I wouldn't want to play for team when I know the owner hates me, I get bumped from starting SG based on a contract negotiation rather than merit, I have no plays run for me and my coach has become hyper critical. Plus it seems he's had some stuff going on- his head doesnt seem in the game like it used to be.

That last one pretty much sums up the team. Shump plays D, stays clean, is defeinetly an emerging talent is crazy and has got to go. JR Smith who drinks and drugs up during the playoffs and gets himself ejected, is hot and cold as any player is great and sane. We have to sign him, guarantee him a starting spot and sign his not even NBADL worthy brother to a to a roster spot. If Shump goes for something that doesn't make sense like Faried, I'm going to root against this team in the hopes one day we get smarter GMs and ownership.
If I'm being honest, I loved Shumps attitude and play in the first season. But he has changed a bit the last season or two. Maybe it was the ACL tear and long solitary rehab process, maybe he just got fed up of the Knicks org, but he's seemed more salty since his rookie season, seems to interact less with his team mates and his defense just hasn't been as good. Maybe its because guys he got on well with (Fields, Lin, Novak, JJ) have all gone, but he does seem a bit of a grumpy loner these days.
I loved how he played in the playoffs but, I just don't think he's going to reach his full potential here (we've treated him lousily and I think the damage is done). If we're going to cash him in, now is the time to do it while he's still under his rookie contract. I know we're going to get the worse end of the deal though...
Really annoying that it's going this way as he was my favorite Knick.
This is PR person leaking crap so when dolans order to trade him for a bum is done we wont feel as bad. Dolan wanted him gone since he refused to stay the whole summer league. The knicks never get good value in trades so say goodbye to shump and more 1st rounders for a generic bum or player past their prime.

Yup, and it's worked- Shump wants out, the damage has been done

I love the kid but he hasn't improved...Lots of photos of him in the offseason enjoying NY...He didn't work on his intermediate game and his ball handle ..Im sure he was given things to work on in the offseason like Tyson...He cut his hair and says now it all about the team..Well what was it before???...I really hope we keep him..I'm disappointed with the talent and his effort...
When did Shump become a head case? Wtf? This smells like Dolan propaganda
I mean if you're a young talent like him playing for a organization like this, you'd be grumpy too.
Watching Woodson get all over him every game to pretend to reaffirm that he cuts no one slack is f'in BS. Let him pull that mess w/ Melo and be shown the door.
I am a die hard Knicks fan, but this organization is a joke and I agree w/ the post that says we will get garbage for him when he is traded. Looking at Mills and, one of the most overrated/overpaid Knicks ever, H2O sitting in the stands last night like it was the genius and his protege made me wanna just puke my guts out.
Is he a great player no, but is a good player yes. Here is the thing, this organization is a fucking joke. Has been and always will be as long as Dolan is running the show.
You have a guy that is partying before playoff games, putting himself above the team and he gets rewarded. His brother, maybe the worst player in the league gets signed as a favor, he gets suspended and then this coach still gives him the ultimate green light.
How many nights is Woodsen going to allow JR to launch horrible shots, commit mindless turnovers only to be left out on the floor.
This kid rushed back from an injury that kept Rose out months on end and the coach is up his ass all the time. The owner tried to move to the kid and nothing is ever good enough that he does. Does he need to improve, sure.
But, you have double standards for people you create dissension and disinterest, period!
Reason 1,203 why this team is going nowhere

Completely agree with everything here.

Sounds a little bit like Lin.
If Lin stayed in New York Woody would have destroyed him.

With all the stuff swirling around how could this kid focus. The politics of keeping JR Smith signing his brother? Putting the whole team at risk by not signing a center in Chriss place?? I think that Shump is playing like he don't care. The same thing about Nate Robinson he could score but he had to go and look what he did for Chicago last season.
I am have given up hope that we will keep shump. If we at the very least don't get a decent deal for Shump I think I might have to either make the Knicks my 2nd team or at least open up my heart for another team. I came very close to doing this after the Lin thing. Like I have said before, I started being a fan at the start of the Starbury Era. I have toughed it out a long time but I have a limit with the amount of crap I can take from my favorite team. Chris Smith, Lin, overpaying for bargs, overpaying for melo and now a bad trade with shump might be the straw that breaks the camels back.

You are correct in my opinion. Shump came into the league listening to what ever his pro coach told him, he has aspirations to expand his game. But on this team being creative offensively is only allowed for the high salaried players, and Woody has it out for Shump because the owner doesn't appreciate hump's response for not playing in the summer league .
Now the trade rumors swirl around the NY media,
So now Shump probably feels working hard all the time on defense for other players inadequacies has limited his offense game developing.
He might feel why should I play hard all the time and our star doesn't put in the effort every game defensively, so why should I.

Yep... In the desert even lobster is a fish.
the more appropriate chant is... FIRE Woodson, clap, clap, clap-clap-clap.
Under a real coach, this kid would blossom. Woodson is using him as a pawn to save his job.
