Knicks · After the 9th game I found out (page 1)

playa2 @ 11/16/2013 11:19 PM
There is something brewing behind the scenes, that as fans we are not privy to.

If Woodson gets fired he lost the team at the beginning of the season.

Teams play this way when they don't like the head coach.

Will the knicks(DOLAN) continue to play favorites Melo, JR and his Lil bro with a new coach ?

THIS TEAM IS DIVIDED RIGHT NOW

nixluva @ 11/16/2013 11:30 PM
I can't say if Woody lost the team. Perhaps he never had them is a more apt description. He had a very suspect plan this summer that seemed not to include really working on establishing anything. It's as if he went out of his way to leave things up in the air. The JR starting and Shump not being given the vote of confidence stuff. Woody seemed not to really have any conviction about how he wanted to play this year. So much so that it seems like he never really installed the offense with a clear goal of what they were going to look to do.

Last year we knew we wanted to get some post action but when injuries changes that they went with a spread offense and 3pt dominant attack. It was simple but effective. What was his plan for this year? It's not clear what he wanted the team to focus on.

Knicksfan @ 11/16/2013 11:30 PM
True

They did the same with D'antoni.

Is the Smith situation to blame? This team has no excuse to be playing this way.

Quitters. Unprofessional athletes.

Always turmoil. How can one be a fan of this embarrassment?

Clean @ 11/16/2013 11:30 PM
He lost the team once Chris Smith made the final roster. That added with his favoritism and lack of coaching IQ has lead to his demise.
nixluva @ 11/16/2013 11:38 PM
The thing is this was a Jump Shooting team. A hot JR, Melo and Felton was the core of that attack with some really good shooting from Kidd and the other supporting cast members. So this year with Felton and JR sucking it drags the entire team down. Felton can't defend and can't run the offense so far this year. JR is an absolute MESS. Selfish, bad shots and overall poor decision making.

Who knows what is going on with the defensive schemes this year. It's more than just Tyson being out. If you watch Felton and even Prigs they get beat WAY too often and there's no chemistry to the defense overall.

holfresh @ 11/16/2013 11:41 PM
Get rid of Chris Smith and those damn orange uni's ...
CrushAlot @ 11/16/2013 11:44 PM
Woodson was done once Grunwald was fired. He has been put in a compromised position with Chris and JR. He lost Tyson and the team can't make up for what Tyson brings to the team especially with KMart on a major minutes restriction. It isn't the same but Woodson has been put in a position where he is a lame duck. That seems to be the trend with this organization. Isiah took all of Lenny's assistants away and replaced them with his own guys. Grunwald went for a traditional line up when he signed Tyson and amnestied Chauncey but he had a coach that relied on a dominant point guard to run his team. Woodson/Grunwald worked. The Grunwald firing, Chris Smith signing, changing agents to get the job, starting jr smith, having KMart on a minutes cap when you need him to play more if you have any chance of winning games all seems to be coming from the owner.
Knicksfan @ 11/16/2013 11:46 PM
Sell the team. Yes, Im talking to you, Dolan.
gunsnewing @ 11/16/2013 11:57 PM
Yea you hit the nail in the head and we've seen it many time before. The way they are playing suggests they quit on the coach. The only ones playing hard are Melo and JR and that is no surprise since they are the only ones who like the coach because he gives them both carte Blanche to shoot.

Question is who replaces Woodson? Herb? Dolan sure as hell won't hire anyone of significance

JR needs to go back to the bench..Start MWP, but watch his minutes too...

nixluva @ 11/17/2013 12:06 AM
I'm sure JR starting was out of Woody's hands. The way he made a point of it makes it clear Dolan promised JR a starting spot. It's the only logical explanation.
gunsnewing @ 11/17/2013 12:10 AM
This organization is a fuckin joke

Coming around to that point of view.

Actually we were having slow starts offensively..

gunsnewing @ 11/17/2013 12:16 AM
The only option is to start prigioni and bench Felton. Make JR six man and start Artest

Prigioni
Shumpert
Artest
Melo
Bargnani

6th man: JR

holfresh @ 11/17/2013 12:20 AM
We needed to upgrade the backup PG in the offseason to push Felton..Prigs is worse..
CrushAlot @ 11/17/2013 12:26 AM
I think Felton is hurt and playing through it but the Prigs, Felton backcourt worked really well last year. However, I think Woodson was put in a compromised position by the owner with starting JR. I think Woodson will go with the guy that should start, Shump in place of the two point guard line up.
gunsnewing @ 11/17/2013 12:26 AM
Felton is worse. I understand not starting Prigioni cos he is old as FCk eventhough Woodson has already started him this year. But instead of bringing in a starting oh like I suggested in the offseason they signed Beno another 2nd-3rd stringer

This team will never go anywhere until it has a leader, a floor general setting Melo, Bargnani and shp up. If Woodson still rather ISO then good riddance

Beno was a league mini signing which was what they could afford. Were you suggesting using the mini mle to sign a point? It was used on Prigs and Metta which was money well spent for the amount given out, almost vet league minimum in my opinion. Who were you targeting with the 3.3 mil that would sign for that?

He isn't moving the same after the hamstring pull..But he is missing wide open looks...

gunsnewing @ 11/17/2013 12:35 AM
You are right that's why I wasn't high on this team because we dont have the pices to upgrade PG. I thought they would win 46. Right now they'd be lucky to crack 40
