If the Knicks want to salvage this season they need to make a move on Woody ASAP. It's pretty obvious that the players have tuned him out. I believe he has the ear of three people on this team Melo, JR and Chris Smith after that no one is really listening. I feel bad for Woody as he is a real good regular season coach for the first few years and then he has to go because it gets old. To tell you guys the truth the players don't like to be coached during the game about missed assignment because they feel the coach is leaving them out to be dried in front of everyone.
The Knicks don't have a draft pick so the pretty much have to salvage the season.
Wondering who was the last coach who wasn't already with a team in some capacity, to replace another coach after the season has already started? Can't remember the last time. We'll see if Woodson gets any "help".
Woodson is going all in with JR apparently, hard to feel bad for him when he adopts that strategy, knowing what he knows about JR. Got fined 25k for another example of why Smith should have been cut loose.
"thats a pocket pass!"
Mike Woodson would look a whole lot better with Kyrie Irving
Sign Uncle Drew
I don't see that solving anything. My guess is Herb takes over for the rest of the season and I think that would be a disaster. Judging Woodson on this mess isn't totally fair. He doesn't have Tyson and JR is just back from injury. A lot of what is going on with team is out of his control. Firing Woodson at this point is just trying to find a scapegoat for injuries, poor play and bad management.

Can't say Woody didn't make his own bed. Instead of giving Shump the vote of confidence he unnecessarily rode him and for what JR Smith and Chris Smith. Playing favoritism is toxic in a team environment.

I am not sure about Woodson being all in with JR. I think his position has been compromised a lot this year and I don't think he has autonomy. I think JR was promised a starters role and possibly a roster spot for his brother. I think Woodson isn't going with the two point line up because he knows Shump deserves to be starting.

Well Shump has started every game and is playing over 30 minutes a game. I agree Woodson is hard on Shump but I always thought he saw him as a player that could be a lot better. Until recently, I was sure Woodson was very fond of Shump. Not sure anymore.

Herb? No way man. Got to go outside the organization on this one. Scott Skiles, Del Negro, Byron Scott, SVG. Someone who will bring a new brand of basketball, that uses perpetual motion execution offense.

Dolan buys the groceries, fired Grunwald, tries to cook the meal by manddating Amare get minutes and makes Woodson's bed one of thorns by keeping Chris Smith on the roster.
VMart - motion offense?
Do you really think a motion offense is what is ailing this franchise?
No, my brotha from another mother... this story is much deeper than an offensive scheme. It is a fundamental structural and organization issue that no coach can control.
I miss Mark Jackson

Other than a desperate D'Antoni, what guy comes in and takes a job that was another head coaches? That vacancy is almost always filled from within.

I don't believe Woodson is so compromised that he can't pull JR when he is heaving one shot after another without trying to find a better option.

Sometimes Shump deserves to be chewed out but sometimes Woodson singles him out too much.

That makes Woody a lame duck coach. No way a team respects that. Does Woody wipe Dolan's azz too.

I don't think you could find a lamer duck then Herb in an interim position. Is that what you want?

You forgot Lionel Hollins dude.

In my opinion SVG and Skiles are the only good coaches on that list. Again, guys don't take jobs midseason other than D'Antoni. Knicks go with interim if Woodson is out. Ask yourself if you want things to get better or if you think Herb is the answer?
Woodson's combination of stubborn decision in all area's are catching up with him, like Dantoni, the players see his flaws that don't work but he still believes in it....
We need change, although it isn't fair to place it all on Woody, we did not address the positions in a quality PG and backup PG, a legit SF, and a legit quality C, with a younger PF/C that can defend at high level that compliments the C while not being a OFF liability
fake barks/stare downs for blaming assignments when his rotations demand constant HELP/ROTATIONS while we lack speed and quality 1v1 DEFENDERS to do so (his best effort and defender in Iman who was one of Woodson's favorites and does everything to sacrifice for the better of the team is now on Woodson's SH!# LIST cause he is siding with James Dolan
poor philosophy on DEF and lack of OFF (ball movement without a purpose is absolutely USELESS
favoritism of certain players (Melo, JR, Felton, Chandler, Pablo) while being much tougher on other players, losing "credibility" and "accountability"
poor rotations and lineups that don't fit together, on OFF and/or DEF *like playing AB at PF, only Kmart fits with him, and on OFF only Melo fits as PF but with AB/Melo we will be horrible DEF and REB lineup*
lack of adjustments/creativity *instead of letting JR build his NBA game shape and get his legs back, letting handing him the starting job*
He has loss the team and we should just end his misery with our misery and accept that we made many mistakes with the way we built this roster
