why JD loves JR Smith so much? Why overpay to bring him back? Why bring his idiot brother on board? I cannot figure out why the organization likes Smith so much, he's an imbecile who has largely been blackballed by the rest of the NBA.
i'm so done with this team
It doesn't make sense. The only thing you could point to is a pattern for liking and being blindly loyal to guys that have a major self destruct gene in regards to basketball and the Knicks. Isiah and JR appear to have both been given the keys to the castle and told to have at it no matter what during their time in NY.
He did what Lin didn't do..He took less money and made the cap situation work for the team..He took 2.5 mil last year...6 mil per isn't overpaying either...His idiot brother with the muscle pose on the bench, what can I say...Comedy..
Jr is Dolan's weed connect

Overpay? JR supposedly got 2 contracts offers that were more than what he signed with us. The only difference was that they were not taking Chris Smith's bumbling ass. But if you're looking strictly at JR, he's the best 6th man in the league and the 2nd best player on a roster that won 54 wins last season. From that perspective, he's a bargain. His shenanigans off the court abates his value though.

Probably as he is a recovering alcoholic, he instinctively wants to 'reach out' to anyone who gets into substance misuse trouble (see Vin Baker) so he can 'help them' get 'better' like him. Also Dolan only cares about loyalty, so having JR play for us for less than he could have got for 3 seasons, puts him in Dolan's good graces.
Loyalty, dolan will alway reward loyalty

Dolan has a history of loving and paying premiums for off the court (and in-court) shenaningans. Forget JR.
Try and explain his worship and adoration of IT.
