From what i'm seeing this team isn't being run properly and wasn't prepared for the season. When your coach says he doesn't know who the team is, that is a bad sign and he needs to go. It means he has no answers and is just throwing crap at the wall. It's like his decision to go big in the playoffs last year. Woody is being exposed. The hot 3pt shooting covered up his awful coaching but now he has no cover and this is the real Woody.

He was assitant for a reason. And fired in Atlnta for a reason too. They had serious young talent and he never build the contender out of them. It was no owner in his wayand he was given time... Some peopel just cannot work on NBA level.

It may not be a great roster, but GEEZ, a well coached team would not lose to these bad teams like this. There are bad teams that are well coached that win more games than they should based on the great coaching they're getting. If we were losing while executing at a high level then you could blame the talent and not the coach. I look at HOW a team is playing as opposed to just the talent they have. The Knicks are visibly proving to be a poorly coached team. They can't even execute basic BB plays without getting in each others way.

There's a difference between BEING a bad team and PLAYING bad. I don't consider Detroit a good team. They have some talent but IMO it's not a good team. Detroit has a few nice pieces, but don't get carried away. IMO with better coaching from training camp forward the Knicks would be playing much better BB. I can see the points in each game where their poor coaching has let them down. Horrible mistakes they shouldn't be making if they have a clear notion of what they're doing. Poor execution doesn't mean the talent is bad.
Because of how Woodson has coached this team they are killing themselves rather than giving themselves the best chance to win. It's not so much the Pistons or Hawks beating the Knicks as it's been the Knicks beating themselves. The execution on both ends has been that bad. Poor Spacing, passing, no motion or bad motion where players are getting in each others way. Not creating high % shots but rather taking low % shots. The list goes on and on. We had Prigs, Felton, Shump, Melo and KMart play some great BB last year together.
Just look at the way the same players were playing last year and notice the spacing and passing and how they work together on D.

Detroit was missing Bynum and billups. They make their bench better. Knicks only hung in this game cos Detroit had to go to their bench
