There's been a great deal of talk about players we should pursue but no one seems to be interested in Aaron Afflalo. He's been having a pretty good season and I can't help but feel that he'd dramatically improve our team. I think Shumpert and Amar'e for he and Glen Davis might work. What do you guys think?
Affalo, is a good guard to have on your bench. No better than Felton but maybe cheaper.

Uh, dude is averaging 22ppg on 49% shooting and 50% shooting beyond 3. That's no bench player. He also makes twice as much as Felton for a reason.

He had an off year last year but was real good in Denver too. Wasn't he the main piece Orlando got for Dwight? I don't see them in a rush to move him unless picks are involved.

He looked like he was ready to take the next step around the time of the Melo trade, then seemed to not! He's just average really- defense has gotten worse. Since our needs are PG & PF/C, not sure how adding another 2 Guard would help when JR, Hardaway Jr, Prigs, Felton, Beno and Murray can all play there.
You have to figure out in advance who is being undervalued. You don't wait for the player to break out and then give up 10 times as much for him.

He looks like he's taken the next step this season, obviously. If he was on our team, he'd be our 2nd best player. Considering that our team is in desperate need of talent, regardless of position, we need to roll the dice on him if possible and if it is within reason.

Not sure where you got that nonsense from but for his career, he's averaged only 8 FGA and shot 46% from the field and 39.1% from beyond the arc. That is excellent for a perimeter player. Dude is good.
Not likely I think Orlando has choice of Denver's pick so best interest for Orlando is Knicks suck and Orlando takes that pick from Denver.

Why reduce the chances of getting a top pick. Let them both suck maybe they both end up in lottery and chances just increase to get top pick.

Agreed, but the problem is every other team knows this, and so more young players are getting extended early.
Out of curiosity, when was the last time the Knicks signed a player who hadn't become established but had potential? Last one I can think of was Allan Houston, but I could be wrong.

The Knicks are in a rut but with the Eastern Conference as bad as it is, we'll definitely make the playoffs due to talent alone. People forget that we're missing our 2nd best player (Tyson Chandler) and our 3rd best player just came back a few games ago from surgery (JR Smith). Once we get these guys back and in a rhythm, we'll easily get the 4th, 5th or 6th seed. Denver on the other hand, has no card to play and is in a supremely difficult conference. Their pick will be the better of the two.

I'm actually not sure where I got the #s either since they're not right! His overall #s paint the picture of an average NBA player prior to this year though.

Afflalo is the type of player I keep hoping that Shump and THJ develop into. His deal isn't that bad. He's signed through 2015-2016 at about $8 million per. He's got a player option at the end though, and will probably opt out if he has another big season.
