Knicks · David Stern, Donnie Walsh, Dolan & Officiating (page 1)

I will start by giving kudos to Wally for pointing out the offensive foul on Melo on the last shot in regulation before people started blaming the officials. Wally was an ex player he knows what you can and can't do. Melo has to stop leading with the shoulder. You would think Melo would know this after all these years or at least the million dollar coaches on the bench would tell him.

Officiating in the 3rd was atrocious and it would not surprise me if Stern and now Silver has it out for Dolan for the treatment of Donnie Walsh

Going back to game 1 of the 2012 playoffs vs Miami and every single big game the Knicks have played since the. Including last years playoffs the Knicks are always getting screwed

The constant complaining to officials doesn't help matters either

If this is the case then it serves Dolan right

Officiating is the smallest problem we have.
Perception is important and there are no good feelings towards Knicks in NBA.
To be honest there is nothing that will make anybody sympathize with this kind of organization.
When Knicks will have owner, GM, coach, and players commanding respect we will get more calls our way than not.

Bullsh-t on officiating being a non-issue; Lebron, Durant and Harden all say hello. Every star in the league lives on the line, which makes your open looks that much more effective.

All you whiners crying about efficiency would see an uptick in your local Knick starphucque black hole cancer's numbers if he could just get a modicum of what the other stars in the league are provided. Notice Melo being dayum near perfect at the line?

+1 on the whining. Prigs was doing it last night as well. Doesn't help and the energy and time expended needs to be used on D. Too many times we got back and by the time we matched up, they had open 3's.

Melo has more non-calls (both favoring and harming) him than any other player in the league. He gets hit a lot but he also commits a ton of offensive fouls that aren't called.

Getting 1 more FT a game like Harden does won't make a huge difference. The biggest issue is that he takes far more contested mid-range shots than those other players do.

I would hope that whatever actions Stern's takes against Dolan hurts the Knicks fans more than Dolan who really isn't a fan just the owner trying make more dollars. And the dollars keep rolling in no matter what Stern or Silvers does.

In the end it's the fans that get hurt and we no say in what the owner does.

"leading with his shoulder"?????

WTF does that even mean? How do you lead with your shoulder and how is that an offensive foul??

He is trying to say that Melo initiates the contact and the refs are less apt to call those.

every guy who gets calls ie, lebron, george, wade, kobe, durant.. you name it.. they ALL initiate the contact, just like melo does. every single one of them. why do they get the calls and melo doesnt?
gunsnewing @ 11/21/2013 10:40 AM
Yep other than retribution towards Dolan the only reason I can think of is because Melo wears that girdle around his waiste. At least that's what has been suggested by fans and media. Or they just don't like Melo and his selfishness and constant complaining who knows

Unless the defender has his feet set, or Melo is trying to straight plow through them, its not a foul and this still makes no sense.

Members on this site look ridiculous when they say that.

Wally said the officials let it go because Melo initiates the contact. He would know more than anyone here. There are plenty of calls that go against the Knicks that you can use for your argument but not when Melo initiates the contact

I do not see them initiating contact in the low post like Melo does. Most of them don't even spend time in the low post.

Melo's currently tied for 5th in FTA/game behind Durant, Howard, Harden, Love, and tied with Cousins.

The complaints are the epitome of fan bias.

So true. On the other hand there is too much complaining and that is on Woodson to control the players. A coach sets the tone, you dont allow all of that whining and moping to go on during the game. It brings negative energy no matter how much the calls suck. And they aren't always correct either.

But Melo gets hit more than any other star player without a call. You couldn't bang another guy in the league as much as Melo gets banged.

I don't think having shoulder pads and rib pads is helping Melo's case.
