Knicks · prediction: jason kidd steps down (page 1)

nets are not just losing but getting drilled in these losses.

he is in over his head and i think he steps down before the season is over.

too many big name coaches out there that they could use.

i actually predicted brooklyn to win the title...yikes.

CrushAlot @ 11/22/2013 10:07 PM
Not sure but he really relies heavily on Frank to do his in game coaching. What a fall for Kidd if it goes that way. He was so done as a player by the end of last year and this seemed like a can't miss roster. The Nets look really bad and appear to not have heart. I thought Pierce/Garnett would have fixed their lack of heart and poise down the stretch issues. Instead the team appears to be worse then last year. It is early in the season but their acquisitions aren't getting younger.

kidd should have been groomed for this job.. not handed a veteran, win now team like this.

the nets are brutal. no excuses.. they are built to win now and they look every bit like a lottery team....

the nets and knicks so far are huge disappointments nets especially since they were picked to contend..

He has had his struggles with alcohol but I am friends with a guy that has been friends with Jason since he was 13. He has nothing but good things to say about him and says he is a high character guy.

Players probably thinking they already know everything so probably not going to listen to Kidd anyways. Now if the Nets had young players then Kidd would definitely have their ear.
CrushAlot @ 11/22/2013 10:39 PM
Nets had 20 turnovers tonight. Wolves had 8.

Good PG goes a long way. They have a way of getting the most out of a team.

Rubio got in foul trouble early( 5 minutes into the first quarter had to go to the bench). I didn't watch their game like I would a Knick game but I think it was more bad play by the nets.

without being to over the top - it's good to see you back posting on here dj. even if you are a raptors fan

Jason Kidd coaching a "win now" team was a strange move to me. Never coached before, but all of a sudden he's asked to take this veteran team and win it all? Strange! Sound like something Dolan would do.
IronWillGiroud @ 11/23/2013 2:29 AM
Damn that sucks but

I am happy nets suck

I read yesterday that Kidd and Frank aren't on good terms/ Also there was a piece where scouts were basically saying Kidd doesn't actually seem to do anything- one assistant calls the offense, another the defense. I think they hired Kidd under the idea that he would get the most out of their diva PG, and also to stick it to the Knicks, so I am pleased it's blown up in their face.

Pierce and KG are heart players, so being traded from where they were happy to a new franchise, especially in the last year of their careers, it doesn't exactly inspire them to play at their greatest. Imagine if you loved where you worked and had been there for 15 years, then one year before retirement you were transferred to some other place.

They gave away their next 4 or 5 years to win a championship this season- if they carry on like this it will have been one of the worst offseasons for a team in quite some time. I'm amazed they are not getting a roasting in the media like we are. But then again the media always seems to overestimate and praise the Nets.

gunsnewing @ 11/23/2013 7:15 AM
I don't know how you fire Kidd. This is the reason we don't hire Ewing, messier and mattingly. Their lea iciest and good feelings you have about them as a player could be forever tarnished if they are fired. Nyets took a huge risk especially considering Kidd had no head coaching experience. Just cos it worked for Mark Jackson doesn't mean it will work again. Mark Jackson learned under all time greats like Larry Brown and JVG. Kidd spent most of his time with Scott and frank

I know deron is hurt but a good coach gets the most out of what he has like thibbs

Could you imagine Garnett and Pierce who's use to hearing Doc Rivers, listening to anything less INSPIRING when they were pegged to challenge for the ECF?

gunsnewing @ 11/23/2013 10:29 AM
The Nyets won't be as bad once Lopez returns. He is their most important piece

I thought he might play Wednesday. Not sure what is up with his ankle. Hope people look at Tyson's injury in the same light as Bropez.

They have two good ones....i think they are in the same boat as us. To cocky. They thought they would breeze through the season. That's why you play out the Games. Guys got to learn to play and stop taking smack

Tyson is needed. Bargs and Tyson need to play together with Melo though. We need two natural big men on the court At all times

Seems like Pierce got no legs left, Boston traded KG, Pierce, Terry at exactly right time.
