killing the Knicks. Might as well play Hardaway and Murry
nixluva@ 11/26/2013 12:38 AM
SHump seems like he spent no time whatsoever, working on his handle, driving and finishing. Plus he's all messed up in the head from the Knicks jerking him around.
JR is a head case. Dude plays ball but doesn't know how to play BB. Woody lets him stay out there doing stupid stuff and it kills the team. If Woody had an actual offense it could limit the opportunity for JR to have the ball and make a dumb play with it. JR should only be put in position to catch and shoot, not handle the ball and try to make decisions with it.

You know I almost forgot that JR got his money! That is probably the main reason he's showing no growth or focus this year. Dude is in full on Jerome James mode now.
Also I agree that i'd like to see THJ and Murry get some burn. They need to learn the game and we're not gonna win without an infusion of talent anyway. This team needs a legit PG BADLY.

He had knee surgery- he is going to suck for a while.
Shump also had knee surgery in the offseason. So basically neither could work on their games, which is probably why they look awful.

There was Iman Shumpert, who somehow managed to go without a single point, assist or rebound in 23 minutes: “We’re not playing very good basketball right now.” - ESPN

Wow. Sounds like it was a good one to miss.

As I said in the game thread, Shump looks like he needs a therapist. His confidence is completely shot. At some point I think you have to bench him in favor of Murry so he can take a step back and reevaluate. I feel bad for him because its clear Shump really wants to be a Knick. He needs to get angry and take his frustration out on the other team.

Problem is if we give up on them and play Murry we basically gave up on the season, unless Murry had a monster showing.
At this point I will take anything

I agree, Thats why I believe that Murry shouldn't just be handed a spot. He has to go out on the floor and take it from one of them by showing he has more to contribute. Doesn't look like a desperation move if Murry is given some spot minutes to show what he can do instead of just benching Prigs or Udrih. It also doesn't make Murry feel like he's being saddled with turning the team around, he's just a rook. Don't know how he would react and like you said, it would also look like we're flushing the season.

Speaking of JR, have to admit this is pretty funny...
gunsnewing@ 11/26/2013 10:20 AM
Do you really want to lose a young player like Shumpert for good? How about firing the coach and bringing someone in who will allow him the freedom and comfidence to progress? But sure let's trade yet another young player for a bandaid or further alienate him by burying him on the bench. Let's continue to watch Woodson give his boy JR CARTE Blanche
Knicks22@ 11/26/2013 10:41 AM
I'm confused on Shumpert. Such promise, apparent to all on wrong side of coach. Never know all the reasons, but, for a player friendly coach who constantly enables the selfishness of Melo and JR, curious he's law and order with Shump.
JR simply dont' get. For the hot hand he can have once in a while, absence of self-discipline - either on chucking, or behavior - not worth it.
Hope they can salvage Shumpert.
gunsnewing@ 11/26/2013 10:42 AM
It's obvious shorty if trying to get Woodson fired or he wants out of this mess
