Knicks · Rank this stinker of a Knicks team vs Knicks teams of the last 13 years (page 1)

We are off to one of the worst starts I can remember, there's still time to turn it around (in 2011 I think we ended up starting 8-15 at one point, before finishing 36-30), but until we do (or don't!), where do you rank this team compared to the Knick of the last 13 years?

Are we as bad/worse/ better than the infamous 23 win team of 2005-6 (coach Larry Brown)? The 23 win team of 2007-8 (coach IT)?

What about in terms of likeability? Personally I struggled to watch the team for the second half of the season after they traded for Melo. While I warmed to Melo over the years (and am now cooling on him again!), I still don't like that team (I think it was Melo, Amar'e, Billups and complete trash). This current team seems to bore me just as much- no fire, no heart, no team chemistry, no defense.

So where do you put this team compared to the disaster squads of the 2000s?

I still think this team winds up over .500. I'm dropping my delusions of 55 wins, but 43 or 44 wins is still possible.

We're in a pathetic division. Even at 3-10, we're only 3 out of 1st place. As sucky as the first month of the season has been, I'm at least enjoying Brooklyn playing equally sucky ball. +1 for Team Spite.

I will agree this team is relatively boring (boring coinciding with losing? Go figure...). I'm watching fewer games than I have in a long time. I was really looking forward to seeing Jeremy Tyler suit up this year. Hopefully we bring him back on post New Years. Just not a ton of effort to see on the court.

this is worse because even moderate expectations are going down the drain - where those teams, for the most part - only homer kool aid drinkers expected anything much.

I (and many highly regarded posters) spent much of the IT years high on Koolaid- each year we would convince ourselves that we would make the playoffs- I think the only dissenter back then was Islesfan! (whatever happened to him?!).

I hope we do turn things around, but I find it worrying that we do the same things wrong EVERY game. We have serious chemistry issues, so we need to make a few trades. I'm looking forward to Tyson and Tyler returning, but I'm worrying that by then it might be too late to right the ship.

The way this team is playing, I'd say theyre on par wit the lockout shortened season Knicks, who got off to a bad, bad start- they managed to turn things round but it took the sheer freak occurance of Linsanity, and then a coaching change to get us into the playoffs (and only then we only just made it- took a lot of wins in the last 2 weeks to get there).

This is the bottom. The worst.

At least with the other stinker teams, they played some entertaining ball, or had some ridiculous scandal or controversy making it borderline comical.

I'd sign up for Duhon dropping 20 assist games, Marbury going end to end in 3 seconds, or David Lee putting up unlimited double doubles over this garbage team.

No heart, no chemistry, no leadership. 48 minutes a game of waiting for Melo and Jr to pass the ball finally. Melo, literally, had his first assist in the 3rd quarter last night and I mock cheered from my couch. Why Cole Aldrich and Tourre Murry can't get into game is just totally beyond me. Shumpert's confidence and game totally gone in the shytter. I'm not saying it's what's happening, but certainly looks like Woodson lost the team and they're tuning him out now.

At least in the IT and Brown era you half expected Marbury, Curry, Zbo, Nate, or some volatile character to legitimately cancerize the lockerroom by the end of preseason.

This cast of characters barely seem like they give a shyt. A bunch of paycheck players. It hurts, man.

Worst Knicks team ever,

Never before was it this depressing,

They hung hat on 54 way too long and it looks like hideous fluke now

Until we have our starting center back, until Felton is over his hip and hamstring injury, until we see if Shump gets his mojo back, its too soon rank them IMO. I get the pessimism, but its still too soon to go comic book guy. Things will get better, its just a question of when and how much.
