Knicks · We are at a point again where only a league intervention will correct the ship (page 1)

But walnuts is long gone and Stern is retiring.

Who will check us this time?

Bonn1997 @ 11/27/2013 6:37 AM
The league never has and never will bail us out. They don't do that kind of stuff.
IronWillGiroud @ 11/27/2013 7:08 AM
The league is not above a subtle nudge. Thata what donnie was
Bonn1997 @ 11/27/2013 8:17 AM
And that turned out great
gunsnewing @ 11/27/2013 8:18 AM
Dolan can't keep himself from meddling with the Knicks. Fortunately he stays away from the Rangers
CrushAlot @ 11/27/2013 8:27 AM
Apparently the league investigated the Chris smith signing. The league said he is a 'prospect'.
gunsnewing @ 11/27/2013 8:34 AM
I wish Dolan would do something epically stupid so that he can suspended from the game
smackeddog @ 11/27/2013 10:40 AM
Don't forget, Stern was the one who suggested to Dolan that we hire IT! Thanks Stern!

This isn't 1990. There were hardly any cell phones then. People were less accessible then so George Steinbrenner was less able to do crap then.

Now with all the technology, it doesn't matter if Dolan gets suspended. He'll still be able to reach out to people and put his hand into crap.

No, that was Magic who suggested that.

True

And yea that was Magic not Stern who suggested that Dolan hire Isiah. Thanks Magic!

Yep- just when we thought Layden was one of the worst GMs, along came his successor and took it to a whole new level...

I think the league put in the draft pick rule because of us. The one where you can only trade every other pick.

Maybe instead of banning Dolan the NBA can make it so you can only trade a pick every 5yrs. That would accidentally solve some of our problems

Knicks are known to do draft for others so even a 5 year rule would be useless for this organization.

Well Stern did stop Dolan from hiring Isiah again that one time. I don't know if that's technically bailing us out but it was helpful.

I wish they'd ban you from being allowed to not bother protecting the pick you trade. And also make it so you can only trade one first rounder per decade

here's a letter to the nyt following the article about dolan's band:

chris english Denver NYT Pick

"As a Nuggets fan, I can't tell you how much I love the New York Knicks & Mr. Dolan. First, when we had absolutely zero leverage, you graciously give us Danillo, Wilson, Ray Felton (who we turn into Andre Miller), and a solid up and coming Mozgov for Melo..And now, when it's our turn to cash in on your 1st round draft pick we also got from you in that Melo trade (in the deepest draft since Melo himself came out) you show the kindness to suck so bad that we have a legit chance to get Wiggins or Parker. You guys are the best!!"

CrushAlot @ 11/27/2013 12:59 PM
Best quote from that article.

While not exactly on topic, this article brings to mind one of my favorite New York Daily News headlines when Jimmy D. fired Larry Brown: "Head Case Fires Head Coach". I wonder what would have happened to you if you worked in the MSG executive offices and left a copy of the paper on your desk that day
