Knicks · Kidd's Soda spilling what was that ? (page 1)

VCoug @ 11/29/2013 10:30 AM
None of the above. It's clearly Kidd's best coaching decision since becoming head coach.
Clean @ 11/29/2013 10:54 AM
Obviously it is cheating to get a free timeout. People might think it is a smart move but I think the opposite. It would have been a smart move and worth the fine if he would have done it in the playoffs game 7 or something. Doing it at this time of the season is just a waste.

The real story here is how bad of a coach Kidd is. He does this to get a free timeout right? After he spills the drink he looks at the floor like a dummy then motions to his "assistant coach" to draw up the play. How can a person who is such a good coach on the floor be such a bad coach on the bench?

It's better for Kidd that we're talking about his soda spill than his coaching performance... so I voted 'creative rule skirting'
CrushAlot @ 11/29/2013 11:08 AM
During the broadcast frat ell said he used to do it all the time.
Finestrg @ 11/29/2013 11:12 AM
I saw this happen live and I gotta say I thought it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen happen. I laughed my ass off! Right up there with Ashlee Simpson getting caught lip syncing on Saturday Night Live! and having to cut to a commercial.

Didn't realize it was done intentionally until later. Even funnier. HAHA!!

jrodmc @ 11/29/2013 11:20 AM
Listening to Coach Kidd trying to explain it away later was even better. He sounds almost deranged.

Mr DUI spilling his drink. You couldn't make this stuff up.

Take a look at Lawrence Frank's stare (of unbelief) in the bottom right hand corner....Priceless!

I wonder if he had to sip his rum right from the bottle on the car ride home since he spilled his coke?

none of the above on the poll... there is a phrase that sums up perfectly what Kidd did: bush league

Uh Fishmike, with your astute observation, wouldn't you think that would fit in the "Shady" choice ?

Now you see why Fratello stayed on teams like Atlanta and Pre-Lebron Cleveland Cavaliers so long.

I hated his cav teams. Those were always really boring and really close games.

naa.. I didnt see it as such. Reminded me of when ARod was running up first and tried to slap the ball out of the guy's glove hand who went to tag him, it was in a playoff game. Shady? Cheating? Not really... just bush league. If Kidd had those old men playing respectable basketball he wouldnt have to spill soda, but its a bush league team run in bush league fashion. Just my take
GustavBahler @ 11/29/2013 11:36 AM
Have to admit that was clever, but he should have saved it for the playoffs, assuming they make it. Won't be able to pull that again since refs will probably give him a tech if he tries it again.
Vmart @ 11/29/2013 11:40 AM
Fraud, NBA it's obvious to the naked eye it was an accident.
gunsnewing @ 11/29/2013 11:43 AM
No more bush league than Lebron and Bosh's flops
Vmart @ 11/29/2013 11:43 AM
As a Knicks fan I want to fine commissioner Stern $1 Million. For sanctioning the sale of the Knicks to Dolan.

agree.. and those repulse me. I have zero respect for Lebron as a player and fellow athlete, even while admitting he is easily the best player in the NBA and the best I have ever seen MJ aside. Its the main reason if the Knicks are stinking I just tune out basketball and dont watch. NBA used to be my favorite, but now I cling on to Knicks love, but honestly Im a couple bad Knick seasons from simply letting go of following hoops all together. 100% bush. Your spot on Guns
Papabear @ 11/29/2013 12:27 PM
Papabear Says

How come Kidd didn't become an assistant coach for the Knicks? Because he was talking to the Nets before the Knicks season was over and the Nets should have been heavily fined for that. But we can't prove that. By him pulling a stunt like that Kidd has no idea how to coach a team. It's different than playing on the court and talking to players and calling out plays.

The worst part is the refs still fall for his flops. On offense he can drive to the hoop with 2 people hanging on his back and score no problem. On defense he drops like a domino.

Another example of Kidd being shady, trying to milk the rules.

The wily Kidd, then playing for the Mavericks, charged into Woodson with his elbow as he dribbled up the left sideline, proving to the referees Woodson was actually a couple of feet into the court – which is considered interference. Mike Woodson at the time was the Hawks coach was assessed a technical foul and the Hawks were winning 97-95

Now listen to what Melo said to defend him:
Carmelo Anthony said the cup incident demonstrates Kidd’s feisty competitive spirit.

“That goes to show you what kind of person he is,’’ Anthony said. “He’ll do whatever he has to do to win. He protects his team.’’

SMH rolling my eyes

What was it? It was bush league. Guy should be cuffed and tossed in the slammer, life sentence.
