Knicks · woodys infatuation with JR (page 1)

SlimChin @ 11/29/2013 11:21 PM
watching knicks playing denver. Hardaway jr has the hot hand in the fourth while JR struggles. Woody inexplicably pulls the rookie and puts JR back in!? WTF?!?
gunsnewing @ 11/29/2013 11:22 PM
He's going down with his boy
Knicks22 @ 11/29/2013 11:23 PM
couldn't agree more, posted on game thread to the same.

0-6, and still shooting.

Arrogance with great talent unfortunate, but can live with. JR a streaky one-tool player, whose self confidence is delusional, and destrutive

NYY1NYK2 @ 11/29/2013 11:25 PM
in-fuckin-credible

THJR hits a clutch 3, back to back blocks and sits him down for his crackhead stepson

franco12 @ 11/29/2013 11:42 PM
as I said in the game thread- I don't know if this is stubbornness or simple stupidity.
franco12 @ 11/29/2013 11:45 PM
I think you had some good play out of Hardaway jr and Shump. Bargs was decent and Melo at times was efficient. Felton gave you a few flashes- But JR by and large stuck the joint up all game and has all season. At some point, JR has to go to the bench for at least a game, if not several - just to clear his head.
GustavBahler @ 11/29/2013 11:49 PM
Both JR and THJ were not playing good D so I would have gone with the hot hand which was THJ. But Woodson is old school when it comes to rookies and vets, which in this case wasn't a good thing.

LOL

Team seriously flawed, entirely selfish and inefficient.
Ironic, since coincides with the greatest player of this era, who is both amazing unselfish and highly efficient.

JR is like a broken watch - right twice a day.

JR "two roster spots" Smith.

i knew jr was gonna struggle this year. he had a career year last year which was mostly to get a new contract. I didnt want the knicks to give him a longtern deal because he is unreliable and of course they did taht and he has stunk so far
anrst @ 11/30/2013 5:05 AM
does jr have trade value?

He did the same thing with Copeland in the 6th game in playoffs last year. He's coaching for job security by doing what the OWNER wants. Woodson isn't as stupid as we think, he has kids to feed. The mandate from the owner is how he coaches, make Melo the only star, don't allow up and coming players shine in the limelight.

Vmart @ 11/30/2013 9:25 AM
Did the same thing in playoffs to Copeland.
buddapaw @ 11/30/2013 1:00 PM
Never wanted JR back too much BAD SELFISH SHOTS, hardly any defense any coach who hangs his hat on a player like that needs to be fired!!!!
BigDaddyG @ 11/30/2013 3:21 PM
Karl, as batty as he is, dealt with JR the best. Leave him in when he's playing well and take him out when he sucks. There seems to be no accountability here. The franchise is bending over backward for Smith and his play has warranted that type of treatment.
