and that's with a significantly reduced role. When Tyson went down, I thought this was about a .350 team. I don't get the focus on Woodson. He suddenly forgot how to coach and it just coincidentally happened when our roster became shitty and our center got injured? We have a bottom 5 roster (with Tyson out) and should have a bottom 5 record.
Can't say I disagree. Although Bargnani, shortcomings on D and all, has been a nice surprise offensively. If they'd just play a zone with Tyson out they'd be better off.
Bargs has been an OK role player. I thought he was more of a 12th man but he's playing like a legit 7th or 8th man.

Funny there is a bargs thread on the raptors board on realgm. He is getting a lot of praise over there.
Bullshit....
we don't run pays and the dude started the season with Melo, Shump, Tyson, Felton and priggy.... even with all the roster moves we made. He is still Un prepared and admits to it. The restrictions to Martin and amare are not should not an excuse. we should not be 3-12. Tyson is not patrick ewing. Even with tyson we were losing.
The players don't know their role and the are no plays. Guys are being asked to do things outside of their skillset. Woodson needs to be fired and there still needs to be trades. Major shake up is needed and the roster needs a lateral trade.

7th or 8th man at best.. he sucks.. you say he has been playing well? again, you ignore all the other parts of the game.. he is letting guys get by, not protecting the paint, late on rotations... the guy is doo doo..

With powers of perception such as these, we really need to hire him as GM!

These things are not mutually exclusive.
Do we have injuries? Yes
Does our team suck? Yes
Does our coach suck? Yes
All these things can exist at the same time. Even if you have a bad team there are things you just should not do with this team. For instance, I would never play Amare. I for sure would NEVER play Amare with Bargs at the same time. Both of those guys rotational D is so bad you are basically playing 3 on 5. Good coaches have plays that they use through the game. We use maybe like 5 plays a game. 4th quarter and OT's are ISO melo time. There are a ton of other thing that proves woody is a bad coach. I just don't feel like putting the energy into typing it out.

The coach is awful and the players are awful, and they all fit together badly.

In my opinion Bargs is playing well. The problem comes in his rotational D. His rotations are slightly better than Amare's, which is slightly better than the worst in the league. If you want to be playing for anything more than 8th seed Bargs can not be a starter on your team. He would be a good 6th man off the bench where he can score and not be torched by the other teams bums.

If you were expecting him to be oakley or otis thorpe all of a sudden yeah... he's doing what he's been doing his career. That is what I expected. He plays solid man to man defense. Hes not good at team defense but hes not as bad as amare. He rebound the ball terribly but thats to be expected too. Dude can still score and has been really good for us. He starts for us and that's what matters. Don't care about if he would start on established teams. We should not be 3-12. That's not on the defense cuts Woodson doesn't run plays. He's not doing anything this year like wth.
They never should have dealt for bargnani plain and simple.
I cant even blame him, it's not his fault he doesnt serve our needs.
If this team was serious about trying to win, then you dont get a Bargnani, you get what you were LACKING in your run.....more defense, a big man center....and a better starting pg.
Bargnani playing OK. Anyone who says he's not playing like a legit NBA player is going overboard. There are four thing right off the bat that have are hurting us: 1) Tyson hurt 2) crappy guard play 3) high turnovers 4) bad shots. The last two things can be blamed on the horrible point guard play. I knew our guard defense is bad, but having Tyson out just highlights even more. I can accept it if a PG blows by a frontline defender. But at least be physical. Don't let him get to the rim without him feeling it. It's like a friggin' layup line. Our shooting guards haven't been much better.

I think you need more than what he offers for a 6th man.. I think 7th or 8th man is about right.... honestly, he plays a position which IMO needs a leverl of touhgness and competence in the paint on both ends... he is a jumpshooting big who doesn't like the paint at all. that is a problem..

And that is a major problem with me.. and should be with every knick fan.. not expecting him to be oakley.. two different games, but I do expect him to play like a big at some point, and he just doesn't.. never has...

You cant really expect a guy to be what he isnt...he should never have been acquired.
I understand the Knicks had little assets to get better players...cool, but if you know you need a worktruck, why go get a Kia Sportage?

Miami just won two championship with Chris Bosh. You don't need Thorpe or Oak to win in today's NBA game. But you do need solid schemes and you can't just give up the lane unless you have Hibbert or Dwight on the backline.

It also helps that they have LeBron James....our guys need a LeBron to win.
