Knicks · Serious Trade Ideas (page 1)

There's a lot of trade scenarios being discussed in the other threads, and it seems like a hassle to keep up with different threads about basically the same, so I figured we should gather/lump them in here instead and keep it organized.

So far I've liked the idea of trading with Pistons, as Ron suggested. Also, I liked NYKBocker's proposal with Houston. I could see Melo resigning with either team.

Another trade partner I could see being interested would be Dallas. A package of Ricky Ledo, Shane Larkin and a boatload of picks could be worthwhile. And Cuban would probably throw plenty of money at Melo.

Trade #1

Knicks get:

Kendrick Perkins, Thabo Sefolosha, Reggie Jackson, Hasheem Thabeet, and a 2014 1st rounder

OKC gets:

Tyson Chandler, Iman Shumpert, and either Felton or Prigioni, I don't care which.

OR

Knicks get:

DeAndre Jordan, Willie Green, Reggie Bullock, LAC's 2017 1st, Brooklyn's 2016 2nd

LAC gets:

Tyson Chandler and Pablo Prigioni

Trade #2

Knicks get:

Pau Gasol, LAL's 2017 1st round pick, and Brooklyn's 2016 2nd round pick

LAL gets:

Carmelo Anthony and Iman Shumpert

OR

Knicks get:

Caron Butler, Ekpe Udoh, Luke Ridnour, Nate Wolters, Milwaukee's 2014 1st(that's not happening!) Toronto's 2014 2nd, LAL's 2014 2nd, and Milwaukee's 2015 1st

Milwaukee gets:

Carmelo Anthony

OR

Knicks get:

Trevor Ariza, Bradley Beal, Jan Vesely, Chris Singleton, Eric Maynor, New Orleans' 2015 2nd, Washington's 2016 1st

Wizards get:

Carmelo Anthony and Iman Shumpert

Those are the big ones and if we were to deal Melo for Gasol there are definitely moves we can make with him; we could probably make both of the Tyson trades just with Gasol in one spot. I keep on trying to come up with a reasonable trade involving Bargnani but I just have no idea what his value might be around the league.

There are other lesser moves to be made as well. Felton/Prigioni could probably bring in a late 1st/couple of 2nd from a contending team like OKC. Same with Kenyon Martin. If JR Smith ever stops playing like hot garbage we may be able to get something for him but with the way he's been playing we couldn't pay teams to take him off our hands.

Knicks don't need low draft picks.

Only realistic trade is a team Melo is willing to resign with.

Only teams I can think of are both in LA. CP3 on the Clips and Kobe on the Lakers.
