Knicks · Rumors that Huston to replace Woody? (page 1)

Will he get another 100 mil contract from Dolan as a GM/Coach?
Melonoma @ 12/4/2013 10:50 PM
Allan Houston? He has no coaching experience. I'd take him as the GM though.

The next contract Melo gets will be his last big and long one, which we only we can offer him. Melo abandoned ship in Denver, and he will most likely do it to the Knicks. The pressure could be to much.

I thought he meant Angelica Huston
Mray20 @ 12/4/2013 11:38 PM
I would give Allan Houston a shot in the interim and get a big name coach in the offseason, Allan probably does know how to coach a bit considering his father was a coach and he's been around the Knick coaching staff and front office a lot since he retired 8 years ago.

Like I said on the other thread, we have a GM who has no experience of being a GM, and now Dolan wants to hire a coach with no experience of coaching. His obsession with loyalty over everything else is beyond a joke.

How much of a difference has all the experience Woody has made so far? Sometimes that experience can be overrated. IMO the kind of changes that need to be made aren't rocket science. Woody has been too stubborn to make the obvious changes in what he's been doing. Too much pride I guess. Maybe H2O would just make the common sense move.

IronWillGiroud @ 12/5/2013 5:14 AM
h20 would come in here, drop buckets as a coach,

he'll do it all for you: motivate the guys, draw plays and bring a vision to the hardwoods

Can't be worse than Woodson
Nalod @ 12/5/2013 7:00 AM
Rumor is based on speculation by a writer about what could just be a temporary assignment to gain experience. We get to February and we done, and Dolan determines Woodson is not coming back then perhaps.
Allanfan20 @ 12/5/2013 8:32 AM
He's being trained slowly but surely to be a gm. He represents one of the few cases the Knicks have been doing the right things with. Now we are just going to throw him in the trash and make him a coach. This would surprise me not one bit.

This is laughable and probably would happen knowing this org.

Allan Houston, one of the most overrated Knicks ever, still working off that 100mm contract.

You guys have short memories regarding Houston. Even in his first year as a Knick in 96-97 he was great in he playoffs. Nevermind the entire 99 playoff run and The Shot. Unfortunately Ewing started breaking down kick started by an accidental injury from Andrew Lang. Then he Achilles went after all the inactivity
