Would be interesting to see both Van Gundy's land coaching jobs in NY next season.

JVG got wooed by the Rockets with the lure of a big contract and a core of a young Yao ming and an in prome McGrady. As we know injuries derailed that dream.

But he got paid!!!

I don't know what he gets paid to be the No. 1 analyst for the NBA but life I would imagine is better in that gig than to work for MSG at twice the salary. A man paid for his words and self expression would be neutered in MSG. The star if he even remains is one with charisma but not known to improve those around him or carry a team thru a playoff series as a matter of habit.

So while we all love JVG and I for one would be thrilled to have a man of integrity and honsesty whose hard work rose him thru the low ranks of a video coordinater to lead a team to the NBA finals and the intelligence to become a top analyst,as well as the humility to admit he was wrong to bail on the Knicks, I just can't see where he would find it attractive.

I understand why we as fans might want this man.

Dibs on Stan. I think his coaching is more palatable to what we (want to) do.

What is that? Inefficient offense?

Stan had great 3 pt shooters in Orlando who playoff off Howard

Stan has a better handle....

What was inefficient about Stan's offense? And as much as the Magic were exemplary shooters, only Ryan Anderson has kept up that pace and can regarded as a "great shooter". We don't have any of those players on our roster but pet's not pretend that we can't duplicate those schemes/strategies. We were an elite 3 point shooting team just last season and have largely retained key members of that personnel.

The Knicks players are inefficient shooters

Raymond Felton is still here. JR Smith is still here. Iman is still here. Bargnani replaced Novak, who hardly played anyway (but is still a better spot shooter). The players haven't changed; the looks we got and our health did.
