For many it was not about hating melo, but hating the deal.
For the Somberites the worst nightmare is coming into fruition
Amare could not live up to his contract
Tyson reverts back to fragile career path
Felton is a good backup
Melo has checked out/we overpaid for him.
2014 pick unprotected
I never would have thought we'd start 3-13 and the future so bleak.
Point of thread:
There is not constructive positive thoughts here as we wield no power or influence. Last season was enjoyable and even though we fell short of conf. finals I was fun. Meaningful games!
Im not sure what holds but im proud of my Somber faith because I find no evidence to trust this franchise will fulfil me.
DJ who defected to the Raptors believed that team was trying to rebuild. While they have yet to fulfil that goal I do believe they have made an honest effort even in failure. Uri is in charge and they cut bait with a failed star and got a no. 1 pick for him.
Memphis gained by trading Pau in what was seen as crimal steal by the Lakers but it created cap space for Memphis to be a winning franchise. Denver traded their StarMelo and are set in a rebuilding mode that is exciting. No, it was not tht Gallo was a great player, or Felton (tunred into Andre Miller), or Shy Wilson, or Mozgov, or the picks but collectively they are assets.
We are Somber again as our francise is a joke. We have learned that we can be mediocre with Melo. I don't know why he would want to stay. Its not his "fault" as he did not make the trade. He has to know for him to succeed he has to opt out and go to a team that cannot depleate themselves to trade for him. The trade was bad.
I want to believe otherwise.

When hating the deal becomes having a powerful, unrelenting hatred for the player (and in some cases the person), then things get a little annoying.
I think the biggest problem is that we as a franchise cannot/will not rebuild. As long as that mentality remains with the owner, things won't change for the better too often.
Call me crazy but I'm still gonna follow this team regardless.
Maybe you could retitle it: Nalod's Most Excellent Useless Frontrunning thread?
How far the once noble Centrist mindset has fallen...
Ironically, after all the arguing, everyone was wrong- we are even worse than anyone imagined!

What exactly is frontrunning to you? Because I have no idea what you're talking about.

Nalod spoke not about hating on Melo, but hating the deal.
Go back and look them up at the time.
Define frontrunning.
Nalod is consistant.
Homers like kittens, Centrist will remind you they grow up to be cats. Haters like dogs.

Think Papa Bear called it on 10/22
"Papabear Says
The only way Melo leaves the Knicks is that they stink up the place this year. Bargani have not showed anything yet. and we have a lot of injuries."
well it only took one injury to Chandler. Bargs is starting to score but his D is still a liabilty on switches on the P n R.
ironically, Nalod called Melo for Griffin and Jordan in that same thread....so basically, it is Nalod and papa Bear's fault for our suck season. http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topi...

My take for that trade is we only get value back if we deal with the Clips. Jordan and Griff are tradable assets even if we deem them unworthy of the Mecca. At this point its not whether Griff and Jordan can lead us to the promiseland, but staying out of the gutter.
At 3-13 Melo should want to leave, and if so we have very little leverage.
This thread needs a happy ending.
