Better than who and how and why?

he is better than felton and the other trash we have because he can actually stay in front of an opposing PG for longer than a few seconds...

DJ might play worse D than Felton. Remember how much Augustin sucked for Indiana in the playoffs last year?

Yea I think when he started for Hill we actually exploited him and won the game

what I remember is DJ was blowing past our guards..

I hate Felton with a passion cause he can't guard any grandma going to the rim, but you don't win any favors by not really bringing up anything to justify DJ.

Indiana didn't want to resign him and he was just cut by the Raptors. Dude can't shoot or defend. Blowing by Felton is something anyone can do.

so what the raptors cut him and the pacers didn't sign him. I knew someone would use that line of reasoning, but truth be told.. we have a team full of outcast and yet yall guys embraced them.. Novak was cut by the spurs, yet he became a favorite here and got a nice contract.. remember jeremy lin? moved around to a couple of teams before landing here and having success... right? didn't most around here big up getting artest who was amnestied which is basically getting waived..

DJ gives us youth, a guard who can score, penetrate and will give us some quickness at PG on both ends. I am not saying the dude is chris paul, but he would be better than the trash we are trotting out there on a nightly basis... to deny this is odd.. as our back court is probably the worst in all of basketball...

I certainly would give him a shot as many on here have made excuses as to why bargnani will be great here showing 4 year old you tube footage, so what is the problem with bringing in a talent like DJ... I would do it right away...

Look at the lakers teams, they have resurrected guys like xavier henry, nick young is playing well there.. who the heck are we to turn our nose up at players who do have talent, but probably need a situation they can succeed in.. who knows it may be here.. what do we have to lose?

DJ is going to be Rocket. (Shang-hai Rockets)

i stated earlier that i'd like to sign augustine, ill delve a little further.

what we know (or atleast i know):
-DJ is small. so yes, defense is a bit difficult for him, BUT he is very quick and usually does a good job of keeping his guy infront of him, which is a huge problem for us right now at the pg position.
-i like the pace that dj brings to the court. he's very fast and i feel if we brought him in, he'd add a new dimension to the team (pushing the ball up the court) and could be killer with a jr/shump/hardaway "shift d'jour" as earl would say. *can't believe i just quoted earl*
-his shot has not been good in the nba. its actually been bad. in college at texas he actually shot pretty well, so im not sure what the deal is. never thought he had poor form or anything like that. maybe it's the offenses he's been in and let's be honest, the bobcats sucked for all those years too.
-ive always though of him as a gritty player. it'd be nice to have some cojones on the team.

whether my assessment is wrong or right, it's what i've seen.

pretty much what I have been saying all year about him. I think you are spot on. his first year in the league he shot 43%.. not sure he is taking a lot of good shots, he does drive a bit and has to take some tough shots, would like to see him pull up and shoot the jumper more.. I think he could still improve on that, but as you said, he gives us things we just don't have..

DJ is so bad that the bulls are going to sign him:

sigh. hurts even more after seeing what kryie did to us. that's not to say WHATSOEVER that dj would have stopped him, but atleast he's quick and we coulda given him a different look. the pg spot for us is sooooo bad.

franco12 @ 12/10/2013 10:12 PM
look - signing DJ is taking a chance that he can regain form and past success. Its a gamble - but what do we have to lose but a roster spot?

He is really bad. Not many nba points are not as good as the guys on the KNick roster. This guy is one.

he's bad now - but he used to be effective not that long ago. Maybe it was how he was used, the city, team mates, etc.

I say give him - or heck- anyone else a shot.

They were saying Felton is still hurt. If he is, shut him down.

You could say the same thing about Beno and Felton. And I agree about Felton. He has a hamstring injury.

just bumping this thread because augustine is killing it with the bulls. over his last 5 games he's averaging 17ppg (48%shooting, 50%3fg) 6apg, 1.6to

we could have had him FOR NOTHING and instead let a smart team like the bulls take him. sigh.

I think it's ironic that alot if us want Augustine. He was the Prigioni to Felton when they both were Bobcats...

history repeats itself

This is a band aid. I would rather let Toure get a chance. Just blow this shit up already.

I been begging for it. I would rather lose with him learning and paying 35 minds a game. He probably would put up great numbers actually

murry has played well when he's been in, he hasn't made too many mistakes and he gives a ton of effort on both ends of the floor. it really shows the level of incompetence that is woodson's coaching ability that he doesnt play more.

Thank you! Chicago took a chance - and might be rewarded.

We aren't interested in players unless they are past their prime, hurt or just knucklheads!

Why exactly would we add another small defensively challenged backup pg? Augustin is mediocre. Stupidity reigns
