IF Amare stayed healthy and played like he can--this team wouldve been a championship team. I guess I can respect rolling the dice a bit--anyone remembers what Amare was his first year here--he was a superstar. We won last night because of Amare and here are Amare's #s the last 4 games

15 points 5 reb 1.4 blocks shooting 75% in 24 minutes--the guy is still on pace there to do 25/26-8/10-2 if he got 36-38 minutes

STOP IT BRIGGS! they played a bulls team that is absolutely decimated by injuries, more than any team in the league.... the gave up a 23 point lead, and had hinrich not been playing like a dummy might have pulled this game out... please come on now.. championship team? with a healthy amare playing well and I love amare, this team would get steamrolled by the pacers and heat, and since we are giving amare the gift of health might as well pass it on to the bulls... a healthy bulls team would steam roll a healthy knicks team..

Shumpert got hurt early in the game. We're missing Felton, Chandler, and Chris Smith.

Seriously though, they aren't decimated by injuries, only Luol Deng was out, Rose doesn't really count anyway.

Amare is still a good player can't harp on injuries he needs to be out there playing. He is the most efficient scorer they have. He is getting acclimated after not playing and it takes time but you can see that his game is getting better and better. More Amare and the teams chances will get better.

shumpert has been a non factor, so lets not act like him not playing would make the knicks world beaters.. Luol deng and Jimmy butler are not playing, two key cogs for that team and if they are playing they win this game... and how can you not count rose, I mean the OP is talking about amare being healthy, then you have to count rose...

the bulls are decimated by injuries when 3 of your starters one of them being one of the top 5 players in the league being out...

sometimes when Im bored I go through ignnored posts and predict what they say. This time was too easy...

Amare isnt just a beast, he's always had a great feel for the game on offense. He's not a ball stopper. His body has had a lot of rest recent years also.. I dont expect the high flying stat of old, but he can really score it.

If we can get 20-25 minutes from him Knicks will be sooooo much better off.

It's true, if amare were the same player he was in year one, we would have had a chance at a title at some point in the past 3 years. Just the typical bad luck Knicks.

I don't know right now. I'm torn between rooting for losses and just seeing good smart basketball but that can lead towards false hole and quick fixes that assure we won't contend for a ring for the next decade plus. I guess I'm still leaning towards losses. It's hard to watch this though. I hope I get to the point where I just stop watching like I did towards the tail end of the Isiah years

I have no problem with the Knicks rolling the dice on STAT. It's the way they used him that I have problem with. They took a guy who every knew had three high level years in him, at the most, and they ran him into the ground in year one.

Doesn't hurt Dolan one bit- he'll always blame someone else before he blames himself.

Bonn1997 @ 12/12/2013 10:50 AM
Come on, even without Amare we have more money spent on this roster than half the league does, including many winning teams. That's just an excuse for the fact that the other 11 people on the roster don't comprise a good team.

I mostly agree, Stat does have a good sense of the game on offense, he has a soft touch but can also power it through the rim need be. But, I don't think you can really say he isn't a ballstopper, when 90% of the time you know he's gonna shoot it. He is a much better player in a system with ball movement, but he doesn't really keep the ball flowing himself. You have to love the efficiency though, especially when he's drawing fouls because he's the only player attacking the paint like last night.

i agree, but it's not so much about luck- we knew this would happen when we signed him, but Dolan decided two good seasons of Amar'e were worth 3 bad ones.

I think the mistake back when Melo came here was letting Melo be the primary option. Amar'e should have been the number 1 option, and Melo the complementary scorer.
