In what world does Houston do that? Was this a joke? Bargs, Beno, and Pablo aren't even worth Asik with one arm tied behind his back.

They love Bargs down there. They think he is the perfect stretch 4.

Do you have any evidence of this? Several posters here keep on talking about that as if it's established fact but no one has provided even a single rumor that Houston likes Bargnani.

This is from a rockets blog quoting Hahn on Lin potentially being traded. Nothing about Bargs but it sounds like the Rockets will try to move Lin's contract if they can.
And a transcript of what he said:

And I know this is blasphemy, but I'm telling you right now: Jeremy Lin could also be on his way out of Houston. If they can find a taker for him and that contract ... like I said from what I heard, I've talked to some GM's from around the league, there is a strong feeling that if the Rockets can find a taker, they will definitely move Jeremy Lin, that's for sure

highly doubt Suns and even Melo would do it but

Dragic 7.5m, 7.5m, 7.5m (player option)
Frye 6.4m, 6.8m (player option
Gereld Green 3.5m, 3.5m
Goodwin or Plumlee, probably neither so, Vyacheslav Kravtsov for salary purposes
One of the Morris twins for salary reasons if needed but prefer Goodwin or Plumlee

OK4 14.45m (expiring)

2 1st round picks (their lowest or worst picks ie Indiana), 2 2nd round picks (they have like 10 in the next couple years)

for

Melo
Tyson Chandler
Kmart (Sun's medical staff would greatly benefit him and Tyson)
One of our SG's
Chris Smith or Udrih

I honestly think the Sun's want a player in the 10-15m price range all star and not much more, so they can still target another big FA this summer or next

In other words, they are looking to use package just draft picks and an expiring for a player

I think Rudy Gay would have been a good addition for The Sun's and Gay himself, in an uptempo system and a stretch 4/5 in Frye, along with 2 PG's for facilitating/penetrating in Dragic Bledsoe
Maybe they are trying to see if King's will bite now that they threw this out there, since the King's still can trade Gay if they want to

I don't think we have a shot with Sun's but maybe if it becomes a 3 or 4-5 team trade, then maybe....

maybe get Clippers (Blake and maybe Jordan)
involved with Houston (Asik and maybe Lin)
and Pelicans (Ryan Anderson) somehow (but with Anthony Davis out and they don't own their draft pick (although it is protected in the deal for Holiday) and with Evans out too

Sun's might be interested in someone like Gordan Hayword and Kanter, or Jefferson/Brandon Rush, to match salaries with Pacer's pick, it would seem "fair"
I am pretty sure they would love Kevin Love too and The Twolves likely wont do it unless they are looking like they won't make the play offs again with an injury and The Sun's will offer 3 draft picks for him with the expiring and maybe a pair of of 2nd round picks

Yeah Id like to see this too. I have a lot of trouble believing that Morey who is all about advanced stats "loves" Bargnani who is a bad rebounder, middling defender, and a inefficient shooter. Just don't see that AT ALL.

Yeah, I have a lot of trouble believing that too. They already have FIVE PF/Cs I'd rank ahead of Bargnani.

That's a great point. Sam Presti isn't available is he?

the Rockets want to trade the great J.Lin?!?!?!?!

Well...I'm sure there are a bunch of teams that just dying to take him (and that contract) off their hands..

Actually, most teams have pretty good PG's and some teams have 2 or 3 PG's that are better than anyone on our team. I love Pablo but he can't play a lot of minutes - fair enough.
If a team gets Lin in a trade though, isn't his salary broken down to 8 million a year? (Or is that only if under the cap?) 8 mill per is great for a player of his caliber and smarts.
No coincidence that Lin did much better with Felton and he had less to work with. Brains, athletic ability, heart will win out over just heart.
I would absolutely Love to get Lin back, he would be a HUGE upgrade to Felton. Actually, would like to have Lin and Pablo running the team and find another home for Felton.

Regarding the point of this thread, I say let's see how we do with Chandler back and Pablo running the show. I don't think it is a coincidence that we are playing better since Felton is gone, and just as notably, Melo's shooting % is up.

Yes, in his type of contract (poison pill, or w/e) the total is averaged. The only way his salary would count as 15 million against the cap is if the Knicks had matched.

exactly.... no proof, just knick land talk..LOL

tkf @ 12/16/2013 10:44 AM
REality check? LOL..

more evidence, the suns have the pacers first round pick, their own first round pick, the wizards first round pick and the wolves first round pick if their record improves... that is 4 picks in the first round in this years draft..

if the knicks had those picks, i doubt this thread would exist, nor would we hear any comments about this draft being more sizzle than steak.. LOL.. I mean come on..

yea, and honestly I heard the lakers could be a destination for lin, dantoni likes him and he has had success under dantoni. I find it so funny how knick fans thumb their nose at players with the roster and record we have....

He's young, on the rise and has a year and a half left. It was never a bad contract to begin with. Now he's back to being an asset because it's a good contract to have... unless he's a threat to leave of course.

With Amare Felton Prigs Martin all down--is it time to capitulate and remake the team yet--or do we need to wait for Carmelo to leave for nothing after we win 30 games anyway?

I'm with you man. Time to blow this thing up. We are wasting time, we can revamp the team and get under the cap right now....what the hell is going on?
