The man can shoot. He's not afraid and he pays hard and with heart. He possesses a killer instinct.
He will improve because he understands his legacy. He knows people talk and he wants to be more than just timmys son.
Agreed! He is good with moving the ball, good player. We cannot trade him.
I hate to say it because I thought Shump would fill that role, but THJ is coming along much faster, is more skilled offensively, and has an overall higher bball IQ. Shump is the superior athlete but he isn't making the most of his athleticism. Probably needs a change of scenery to get there. THJ gets shot happy at times, that's what he needs to work on the most right now IMO.

Rookie stuff. By the time he hits his 3rd year he might be giving us a 14,3,2,1 start line with great percentages...maybe by next season
That is why I feel that Shump is expendable same with JR Smith who I can't stand I think this guy everything but professional.
Last year our guards weren't great but they weren't terrible - Smith, Shump and Felton all were fairly productive. This year all three have regressed - a lot. If THJ can play more minutes at the level he's playing it would make a huge difference. Get Chandler back and someone to play PG and this team could be interesting.

No way can I think shump is expendable with JR being the only other SG on the team. We might still have a small chance with shump if the coach apologizes and we don't trade him. JR is a lost cause and will continue to be a cancer. Shump being here made it possible for us to bench JR last night.

Sorry bro. My phone makes it seem like I'm having a stroke with every post I make.

Not sure how that apology goes. Sorry I was forced to keep Chris and the front office told me JR was a starter? Now stop throwing up air balls three times a night.

this.
Big Shumpert fan but Knicks should have traded him after the season ended.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, after the ACL tear, kid will never play the same again. Same with Rose and Granger.
THJ is hungry and going after it. Wasnt to thrilled about the pick but it looks like the Knicks front office made the right choice.

I was saying this all summer. They needed to sell high on this guy. Looks like it might be too late now. I still think he will have a career as a defensive stopper in this league but he has shown little to give hope that he will develop any sort of offensive game that would warrant playing him 30 min a night.
The kiss of death! We'll probably end up trading him!
he has looked good so for as a shooter but he needs to do some of the other things but He has took the place of Cope/Novak.
I liked the Hardaway pick from Day 1. Well to be honest we usually never have a 1st round pick

Anyway i like his potential he just needs to be better defensively. It also looks like I was right abour JR Smith. is aid that signing him to a multi-year deal was a mistake

I was probably wrong in thinking JRs deal was great. However I think the losing and recovery from surgery has him frustrated and is bringing out the worst in him. The issue is, will he dig himself a hole and burn all his bridges so that by the time he rediscovers his game, it's too late.
Cap him at 20mins a night until he starts playing better- he needs to take a step back and reflect on his behaviour.
Yes Timmy is the perfect SG for this team moving forward.
