In a word, yes..
Its irresponsible not to make a move to replace him. Beno should be that guy easy but his confidence is fucked. So we need a healthy point guard and add a confident point guard too. Add Toure and you can say experienced.
So in one sentence: we need Jesus

Beno is horrible, he rarely looks up when dribbling..He missed Chandler on the roll to the basket on three consecutive plays XMas day..Didn't even see him...It continued..Felton and Melo will have them playing better..Last year I used to say Melo is their best player but Felton is their most important ..We have done the Starphuck moves in the past that's only a bandaid where we lose our shirts..They can have Shump but they are being greedy and want to hit the home run in a trade ..

Well if the ultimate goal is to win a championship, building through the draft rarely gets you there.
I believe we need to delete metta, Cole Aldrich, Beno and Chris Smith of the team. Straight up waive. Next we try to move Tyson, bargs, Felton, Shump and jr Smith for cap friendly deals for whoeve cuz it doesn't matter.
After you do that you fire woodson and let darryl Walker coach till the end of the season with the rag tag team that's left.
In the off season we sit with Melo and build around him with the right players and coaches. If he's not down then we move on. We keep trying to build through the draft, d league and over seas until the can find, develop or sign another franchise talent
Either trade Shump or tell him he's a knick forever because I can't stand his 'me against the world' BS- another drag on team morale.
Get rid of Chris Smith.
Limit JR to 20 mins per game until he is actually able to play effectively.
Sign Baron Davis just to boost team morale, not to play- he was popular with the team and brings a bit of veteran presence.
At this stage its unlikely we can upgrade our talent, so it's important to upgrade the chemistry issues instead.

Grunwald was able to get a second round pick last year for Brewer so maybe the Knicks could get that for Beno. Cole needs to be waived. Maybe you bring in Barron or Haddadi along with Tyler. Then I think they need to start chasing Tyson trades.Silverfuel wrote:I'm not in favor of blowing it up because I think we can still win with Melo on the Knicks. I suspect, the issue with MWP is that instead of having his meniscus repaired, he had it removed (hence him playing again so quickly). Now as a result he has arthritis, as it's bone on bone.

At this point it doesnt matter. metta can't help the team so bye. Kmart too

It's a good plan Eny but do you really thing it is realistic in the NBA? Waiving players works but who do we replace them with? I agree Shumpert, Felton and JR have to go but who will take them? We are going to have to get some crap contracts back in return. Can we trade Tyson for nothing? The dude can bring us something real back in return so we have to sit on this until something worthwhile comes along. Making panic moves not only hurts us, it also allows other teams to low ball us when they know we are desperate.
I'm frustrated too but I don't agree with firing Woodson. This guy is a winning regular season coach. He took us to 54 wins last year. It is not possible that he forgot how to coach right? Couldn't it be the personnel? IMO, he is getting the most out of the talent on this team.
I want us to get away from what guys used to do. If every player and coach was what they used to be we'd be the best team in the nba, but here we are.....
Who do we get? We get players...we need to reshuffle. The season is dead. The locker room is dead. Woodson is lost. We end it and start over.
In my opinion we can't wait. We can't keep any of these guys. A new era needs to start now. Refocus and get guys here that fit the culture you are trying to build. We can't sit and praise guys for what they did. They won 54 games.... there is no excuse for anybody.

smackeddog wrote:Yep you ether need to get rid of the coach or get rid of the players who have tuned out the coach (or both)- usually the coach is the easier person to get rid of. This team has not shown the slightest change or improvement at all since the preseason- not one scrap! Seriously- it's amazing how they've made no progress and have failed to learn from or improve any of their mistakes. There is no point in sticking the course- if you're just going to do things exactly the same way, over and over again, when it's clearly not working, you're just dooming yourself to exactly the same outcome.I think Woodson was on borrowed time once Grunwald was

At first people thought CP3 had his removed, but it seems more likely that he either had it repaired, or just had the torn part of it cut away- who know's, they never clarified.
Brewer did seem to come back to soon, and never seemed to regain his confidence or athleticism after that first month. I'm sure we must lead the league in breaking players minds! So many players seem to permanently lose their abilities after playing for the Knicks...
Spurs
Rockets
Mavs
Pistons
Heat
76ers
Suns
Bobcats
Pacers
Clippers
We'll be lucky to win one of those. Get ready for 10-30.
There just aren't a lot of moves to be made here, unless you're going to convince Amar'e to exercise his ETO. The only things to think about here are how we can jettison Felton and/or JR Smith to get long-term money off the books.
Right now, this team outside a hustling Melo and Chandler and occasionally Bargs is very tough to watch

If Portland could get a 1st rounder (Lillard) for a rental of Gerald frickin Wallace, you can at least get 1 or 2 for Melo at the very least!

That's what suck about all this...
Woodson likes Melo at power forward...but we all want to go for Kevin Love....can the Knicks win with Kevin Love and Melo at the 4 and 3? Would Love even want to come here to play with Melo?
