Bayless is one of my favorite players. That's bedudes the point.
How do we do a trade like this to get rid of Jr? Memphis needs a shooting guard and they got one.
Who needs shooting guard help out there?
no one because of the off court issues. Bayless is having a similar season to Jr except he has one year left. The only trade that makes semi-since is Mayo for JR because is save the bucks money but I am not sure they want the headache.
Jr will probably have a better second half as he recovers from the knee injury but being out of NY may help the most.
yb90 I would love to get Mayo on this roster. I would trade JR for a fart in the wind. I would give a bit more to get Mayo
Mayo for JR? Sign me up - maybe we could S&T Chris Smith and include him in the deal too

Sure. We could do JR and Chris Smith for OJ Mayo and the rights to Todd Mayo.
Last time I checked Mayo was having an awful season. That being said HELL F'ING YES would I take Mayo for JR. I was never a JR fan though he almost convinced me he had turned the page on his bad habits (driving more, less bad shots, playing a team game) last season but I suspected that once he got that long term deal he would revert back to what I now call "17 Three's LOL" mode aka playing like the low IQ player he has been for 95% of his career. It's a real shame because raw talent wise he could be a top SG.
So yeah, Mayo for JR would be a dream no matter how badly Mayo is playing.

I thought I read somewhere Bayless was expiring. I like Bayless more than Lee but I haven't seen Lee much since he left the Nets.

If Woodson didn't enable JR as much as he does and sat him more often when he goes off the rails, Im guessing that we would see more of JR from last season. Woodson talked about accountability when he criticized Beno and gave JR a pass for the Houston game. Talk about a disconnect.

Lettuce and tomatoes hold the Todd Mayo please.

Woodson's handling of JR and the Knicks organizations handling of the Smith boys is bizarre. JR needs to be benched or suspended. The Knicks should consider using the stretch provision and waiving him. In the past there were positives and negatives with JR. Just negatives now.

Stretch provision? Drawing a blank.
Thjr is the man to me. So I have no intrest in getting Mayo. I would want anything else but a shooting guard.
I'm looking but not sure if it's even possible. Jr Smith just untied Marions shoes at the free throw line in a game. Dude can't stay low key to save his life.

It allows the Knicks to waive Smith and spread out the amount he is paid over a longer time period so that the cap hit isn't as bad annually.

I think Portland, Cleveland, Brooklyn and maybe Detriot and Dallas. Of the 5, I only think Cleveland (Bargnani and JR for Bynum's contract)and Brooklyn (Jason Terry's 2014-2015 expirer) would be dumb enough to make that trade.

Thanks, not as familiar with the inner workings of the cap as I should be.

Yeah, you would think playing in the Garden would be enough. I know people make mistakes, but this dude hurts the team doing the stupidest crap. Unfortunately, I'm not sure anyone can reach him. Woody gave it a good try, but it's time to move on.

I've wanted Mayo on this team for nearly 3 seasons, so I'd welcome that trade. The only thing is that I don't see the incentive for the Bucks. They have the 3rd lowest payroll in the league and will be dangerously close to being below the threshold of +/- $43 million, so I don't think they are as interested in saving money as an average franchise. And talent wise, I still think Mayo is the superior player despite his poor play this season, so I don't see them taking on that headache especially with a young and impressionable team.

Detroit I am actually looking at cuts they have rookies playing there. Josh smith is suffering there playing small fwd. They could use Jr Smith actually. Money is funny though.
What about Jr Smith and Felton for Stuckey? Stuckey expires after this year.
EnySpree wrote:What about Jr Smith and Felton for Stuckey? Stuckey expires after this year.
I get the feeling that as long as Dumars is GM, Stuckey will be there. At least this season he is justifying Dumars' loyalty. I think we could get back Jerebko's expiring deal and a second round pick or two. I prefer the Knicks rebuild but if we keep the status quo, JR and Bargnani for Josh Smith would be a steal for us in the short-term.
