And then please indicate which players offer the Knicks best defensive lineup when we need a stop.
Thank you.
You asked for it earl, lol. Ron will be thorough.
I think a lot of NBA coaches can do better job comparing to Woody but probably no one of them will take on this team.
So considering the consequences he is OK.
But do not expect him and this team earn any honorable place in Knicks club history.
War and Peace
Gustav - I'm already bracing myself.
If nothing else, RonRon leaves it all on the floor... er... Quick Reply space.
Looks like Mike Woodson is thinking about going big with Chandler and Bargnani.
just for defensive kicks and giggles... Would it be fun to run Bargnani, Tyler, Melo, Shump and Toure Murry?
Amare is on front street.

Ron definitely leaves it all on the floor, he leaves no stone unturned. I havent seen Tyler yet in the pros so I cant say just yet if I believe that would work. Definitely worth a try.

Problem is he decided on who did.
You have a better suggestion?

yeah i have a better suggestion... murry. guy has shown he can be aggressive on defense. with him and shump in the backcourt, they could even have switched multiple times without sacrificing defense.
here's what's telling about this coach from the news:
J.R. Smith is in many ways a charter member of Mike Woodson’s “accountability club,” a new initiative the head coach started in 2014 at the request of upper management.
Really...? At the request of upper management? He couldn't come up with that on his own?
Show Me the Memo
At the request of upper management?
Cartman - Which sportswriter is the source and why does he not quote the "upper management" person?
Which UN-named source is it today?

the names are right there.
Cartman - the article cites that Woodson has the support of Mills and Dolan,
not that it was at their request, as you state.
There is a difference

yes, the difference is that you didn't read anything but the title...
Knicks brass felt Woodson wasn't holding team accountable during slow start, but recent turnaround has management on same page as coach, no matter how much Smith sits.
INDIANAPOLIS — J.R. Smith is in many ways a charter member of Mike Woodson’s “accountability club,” a new initiative the head coach started in 2014 at the request of upper management.
According to a team source, Garden chairman James Dolan and team president Steve Mills felt that Woodson wasn’t holding his players accountable amid the Knicks’ slow start, when they went 9-21.
The accountabilty thing is not new, he did it when he signed on.
With the blessing of management is how I read the new 2014 implimentaton.
Basically Mills/Dolan said its ok to bust Smiths ass this year when he is out of line.
Murry is the "grass is greener" thing some fans will always gravitate too. Like a good conspiracy, without facts its easy point fingers. "if murry played he'd have.......!"
If he played maybe you don't get as close to even needing a stop cuz the team is down more? Im not in love with PG situation but the way I see it is if Murry is ready to contribute he has to earn it and he is getting an opportunity.
If you saw the Linsanity birth game against the Nets, it was after some subpar outings where he did little. I saw the breakout game was we wuz like "WTF is this Shyt??" Murry is not doing this yet is he?
Way I see it he is on the roster and we bringing him along.
Cart an - the operative words are, "According to a team source."
Nowhere are Mills or Dolan quoted. Nowhere.
Nowhere.

disagree completely. if there really was accountability... raymond felton would not be the starting pg for this team. his defense is terrible on opposing PGs, maybe needs to guard opposing SGs/SFs like he did paul pierce one time. its not "like a good conspiracy" or anything like that. felton is not getting the job done so you have to explore other options. murry is better defensively than felton dont you agree with at least that?
the question is very simple... i could even resign to felton could be one of the reasons we were still in the game offensively, but if you know you need a defensive stop and nothing else at a particular point, why would you not put murry in instead of felton. so that felton could feel coddled?

that's right because those are the sort of things GMs and Owners and Coaches talk to news media about all the time right...? gimme a break. it came from a team source, i dont see anyone on the knicks team or brass refuting it.
Cartman - so, according to you, the fact that no one affiliated with the Knicks refutes an implied statement, made in the press among the volume of stories generated every day, thereby validates the writes angle?
Holy banana peel Batman!

it's not an outlandish statement. it can be considered implied, but it all fits all too well, doesn't it? what suddenly after the new year the knicks players automatically woke up??? what changed...? this points to what changed, and there have been no reports of anything else that could have changed.
holy banana peel batman-that.

Yeah he did but there was a stretch where he stopped. It does seem as if he's back on it now and making an example out of JR.
I thought when Woodson took over for MDA he installed more accountability. I thought last years team with Rashweed and Kidd did not need it.
Melo and JR were to have stepped up from what I read this year. Melo is not an alpha lockerroom guy, at least outwardly and JR is not in a leadership role.
Felton is inconsistant but lets be real, he might not be starter material but 35 year old priggy is not either. Woodson coach's with what hes given.
While Felton might be lacking, Murry is not exactly filling that void.
Its easy to say "Felton should be benched"!! Its not like CP3 is sitting on the bench waiting his turn.

you never know who's on the bench. we need to start an unknown commodity and see what we get over time. we already know what we are going to get with felton and what the best case scenario is with him as our starting PG going into the playoffs

Well the goal is too win games and Murry has to unseat via merit not by exploration. If you want to go with youth movmement and develope like Philly is doing by letting their guys grow thats a different story. I actually don't disagree with what your saying but a Felton was the guy that started and drove the team to 54 wins last year. If Murry is crap, then you accomplished nothing because this is not the roster you try. Im not saying Murry should not be given a chance but he in fact is, but when the window opened unless you go "LinSane" your not replacing a guy because of injury. Is that stubburn? Maybe. Should you fire a guy for that? Doubtful. Unless your losing your lockerroom because "Murry's" play is so obvious, then you stick with what you think will get you the win. I don't think Murry has played to that level yet.
Ill bet most on this thread who are complaining about Woody also complained that MDA was poor here also. So guess what? Piss off. You got your new coach so enjoy

lol i liked d'antoni actually, but if you are talking about woody being a replacement for mda, guess what... i am pretty sure most people that wanted d'antoni gone didn't want woody as his replacement!!! i mean what did the dude ever do in atlanta??? thats like hiring mike brown as a coach. Lakers saw what happened with that.
