Im not sure who today I can compare him to but in a way (since you gotta do the white guy thing), he is JJ Reddick.
Before anyone goes viral on my, let me explain, JJ in the last two years has elevated his game and when you watch JJ in that 5 min spurt when he is on fire thats what Jerry was like, but it did not take him 8 years in the league to get there, nor just 5 min a game, he was like that all the time!!!! Ok, JJ for 5 min a night, Jerry all time great!!!!!! Not saying JJ is Jerry ok?
Today, take one part JJ Reddick when healthy, one part in prime Steve Nash (got the hair) and his motor, and one part physicalness of Joe Johnson, add it up and go back 45 years you have Jerry West. He was big for a 2, had a great motor, and could shoot and he was in the era of before the 3pt shot!
IN the 70' series with knicks that went 7 games, I think it was game 5 west hit a long half court buzzer beater to tie the game up. Granted, not all things are the same but today that game Knicks lose and perhaps it don't go 7 games? No Reed heroics. No Clyde master game? That shot is at 2:26:
