By losing at home in lack luster ways, consistently hoping this would show Dolan his decision making has put a bad taste in the players mouth. This could be the only way to get back at the owner who keeps meddling with the teams structure including players and front office personnel.
When he sits there in the front row under the basket with no hope for the fortunes of the team when a barrage of boos pour out from the bridge of his re-constructed arena.
Whether it's national TV or big game hype the knicks play different on the road than they do at home, where the home team is supposed to have the advantage.
We're 7-13 at home and 8-12 on the road; not much of a difference. I think we play bad at home because we're a bad team.
It's the same players, what could be the difference in your opinion ?
Shouldn't a team win more at home than away ?
Well this 7 game home stand will prove if the team puts forth less effort along with the cohesion of the coach with his rotations .
playa2 - "
cohesion of the coach with his rotations"?
Please help us understand how "cohesion of the coach" should adjust to missing four (Artest, Stoudemire, Martin, Prigioni) rotation players, one shooting guard who cannot shoot (Shumpert was scoreless), another shooting guard who plays when he feels like it, one point guard who doesn't point... and another point guard who could not guard my great Aunt Charlotte?
Sheesh.
Cohesion?
Please explain.
Bargs is a player who seems to cry under pressure, and seems to excel at taking games off (saying he shows up for 40% is probably being generous)- so likely he plays badly at home because he's scared of being booed at home or has been out enjoying the night life. Shump has also felt the pressure as he's been playing badly. We ain't going to win many games when those two are giving us nothing. So I think those two players performances at home games are big reasons for our abysmal home record.
Reasons
Bad biorhythms - one player is up, another is down
NYC Nightlife - confiscate all smart phones
Media Pressure - restrict press access. Hold up. They already did that.
Jump shooting issues (part one)- shooting less than 40 percent will not win any game
Jump shooting issues (part two)- we have no low post scoring, nor anyone who beasts inside, except number 7

Woody coaches better with smaller cast of players to choose from......remember ?
THE QUESTION IS WHERE IS THE EFFORT AT HOME ?

I hate Bargs lack of effort so much- he is by far the laziest player on the team.

playa2 - Woody coaches better with better players.
Effort does not trump superior skill sets who do not over-dribble.
The smaller cast of players things is pure nonsense. What coach wants to be missing four rotation players?
What coach wants to start the season with 7 new faces including a mandated certified scrub?
Popovich woulda quit. Phil Jackson would have boycotted the building.

as I read your theory the last few days about this and your saying is Knicks play bad at home because of media and Dolan watching games in person.
I think you should stick to plagiarizing others.

Injuries have played a huge factor this season. Not stage fright.

Seriously...Last Season, Dolan sat in the same seat as he does this year. The media had the attending the games this year had their credentials last year as well, yet, somehow the Knicks were a very good home team last year....So what changed from last year to this?
The players have had enough, Dolan may sign the checks, but their contracts and paychecks every week aren't being torn up for playing poorly at home.
This is called a silent protest, on the court negligence will reflect on the coach and owner to stop the foolishness or be prepared for the same. The only guys who might break the protest are the ones who has no agenda and need a job or are in contract negotiation situations.

Lemme get this straight...
Select Knicks players are deliberately holding back on their individual effort - not caring whether they jeopardize their off-court earnings via endorsements in the largest media market in the world, and in the process, inviting the derision of 19,494 people who are unhappy with the price of attending a game and witnessing sub par play in person ... resulting in eroding the value of each of their personal brands (and future earnings) by being labelled as overpaid losers...
... for the sake of staging a protest?
Okayfine

A protest that has no chance of yielding any results other than them not getting a contract in the future. I refuse to believe this playa I'm sorry.

When you can come up with a motive, besides this roster sucks come talk to me.
When they put up valiant efforts on the road you have to ask yourself, why all the effort when home town fans are not rooting you on.
Did Melo lose money(endorsements) or fame when he didn't put in the great effort under Dabphoney that he showed under Woodson last yr. NO NO NO

You beat me to it!
I thought we were talking about effort at home. SMH
Whats my motivation?
Playa2 - if you have played organized sports at any competitive level you understand that no athlete plays to lose. Unless you have evidence to support your NYK conspiracy theory, you got nothing.
Athletes compete to win. Professional athletes are wired with extra large egos, developed over years of work, many times at the sacrifice of other aspects of their development. Do you really think any player who has invested so much in a career would toss it away to simply make a point?
Would you deliberately fail at your job to make your boss look bad?

Mista, I never got paid for playing sports, but I have seen players put in less of an effort just to make a point to those who were in charge.
Athletes all have big egos at this level, but they also carry this thing called PRIDE.Pride to make their point known
If these players could get fired and never have a job again i would agree with you.
But you have to remember these are the greatest athletes in the world they will get a job elsewhere if not in NY.
And me personally, I would never attempt fail to make my boss look bad, but that doesn't mean others wouldn't.
Mista, you really don't think Melo put in less effort under Danphoney on purpose huh ?
