We need picks and only max out players who are still young and worth it. If they are on the other side of 28 they should not get max money. We can't have head guys like Amare, mcdyess, H20, Marbury eating up all the cap space. No more injury riddled, malcontent former stars
If Melo was 25 not 30 I would keep him and try to get a top notch PG via draft, trade or FA
But I think it's time to move on. He leads the league in minutes and is only going to start missing more time. Not fun watching another 30 something year old in a suit. We've had our fair share over the years
gunsnewing wrote:Why do you guys want to trade Shumpert? So when he flourishes for a better coach on another team we can start threads about how it was a mistake to let him go for nothing? Ariza, Lee, Nate, Wilson, Randolph, Lin The only guys who we should keep is Shumpert, Hardaway, Murray and Tyler. Talk to Melo and see if he will be part of a quick rebuild if not trade him too.
Actually trade Melo and replenish assets. I want nothing to do with another 30+year old making $30mil per and breaking down every extra minute he is overplayed.
dude shumperts attitude for a young player is disgraceful, he himself is as big of a reason he isn't progressing, as much as the coaching is. i would move shumpert asap.
Chandler has been in the league what 12/13 years..He just decided to lift and work on his offense in the off season ..

Seriously. Did Shump work on anything in the off season? I remember them saying they were gonna try having him play a little point and he didn't even take the time to work on his dribbling.

Ariza's attitude was disgraceful and delusional. He was fine on the Lakers and still a valuable player for Washington as he gives them toughness they never had.
I would like to see Shumpert under a new headcoach before losing him for peanuts. He's shown he's capable.
gunsnewing - stop it. Trevor Ariza was a rookie. He also lost a younger brother in a tragic accident.
Your negative narrative is based on what exactly?
One off-handed comment by Larry Brown?

all he's shown is that he plays when he wants to. all he does is shoot 3's, he has no interest in doing anything else. you can find a guy like that anywhere.
Because that's the role Woodson has laid out for him instead of him and his coaches developing their young plAyers

you really think the coaching staff has told shumpert to only shoot 3s? to me it looks like the coaches are constantly criticizing his shot selection. i've heard woodson say he wants him to take it to the hoop more.

You would think that the way he got his ass kicked in the playoffs last year would make him come back improved. NO SUCH LUCK.
He was supposed to spend a couple of weeks at the "Dream Camp". I guess he missed those sessions.
Also the guards on this team are at a disadvantages because the PGs suck and can't get anyone but Melo going. I guess we will find out about Shumpert soon enough. Either he gets traded or he gets a new coach. Unless it's herb williams

Can't get anything going, and can't create for themselves
Knicks have won at a much higher rate when Tyson has been out. Introspection seems to be beyond him. Much easier to point fingers and criticize. Tyson is part of the problem not the solution.

To be fair, Tyson looked great at the start of the season until his leg injury. Nothing stops momentum like an injury.
That being said, I think you have to package Tyson and Melo or ship them out separately and get as much as you can for them. This team is going nowhere fast. Let Stat expire, build through the draft and get some cap space to make a run at a great FA in a couple years when you have a roster people want to play with.
We have waited this long, this mess won't clean itself up over night.

Dudes at MSG has to pay bills in Midtown Manhattan..They aren't tanking anytime soon to rebuild the conventional way..Just a fact of life..They are profiting from the garbage on the floor..What biz owner walks away from that?..
We Know Drama
“If they want to lash out at me that’s fine. I’m not a coach that takes things personally. Players get upset. Coaches get upset... Sometimes it’s healthy when players get upset like that.”
- Head Coach Mike Woodson
Tyson Chandler should be more vocal with his running buddies on defense.
A double double is not asking too much, is it?
You guys are so unrealistic, how are the knicks going to give to trade away all these (named)players and charge big bucks for admission to a the peanut gallery with no names ????
