Knicks are 10-14 (winning 41% of their games) without Tyson. They are 5-12 (winning 29% of their games) with Tyson. The guy is supposed to be the second best player on the team. Tyson needs to go. He folds whenever things get tough for the team and they need leadership. His actions last spring and now when his play has been poor is inexcusable.
any other variables? Home games vs away? Other injuries to knicks? Records of teams played?
We emotional or can we get value for him?
Sure we should trade him, but who is the center? Fragile Kmart? Tyler ready to start in the league?
I suppose we have to fire the coach so a young fresh faced guy will install great faith in Tyler and Murry and live happily ever after!!!!

I think Chandler has lived off that great run he had for a while now, Championship, Gold Medal, DPOY. Tyson acts now like all he has to do is talk to lead. I say this because Chandler's thrown his share of teammates under the bus without mentioning his own piss poor play in the same sentence.
Tyson had a great run but that was then, right now we should be starting to move our "big 3" and hope they're replaced with players who compliment each other better.
I saw some stat that showed how poorly the team is when Bargs and Chandler are on the floor together. Since Chandlers been the only one injured, we don't see how the team looks with him and not Bargs that often. There could be something to that but I don't know. Watching the games though, you can see a difference in Chandler's play and it's not pretty.

He has gotten a lot from that championship year. Guys in the media just assume he is still that guy when they read his team trashing quotes. It is almost as bad as when the Knicks had Isiah and eventually everyone in the media just made fun of the organization.
Bargs is better playing at C especially defensively. Chandler's trade value has correspondingly fallen with his play. OKC would be interested but cant see their offer being more than perhaps a useless Perkins, an expiring Selfosa and a first round pick which is likely late round

Durante credits Kendrick with teaching him how to lead. The move might be addition by subtraction. Maybe Perkins helps in the locker room.

Sooner or later woodson along with management will realize this is a small ball league. Putting two 7 footers on the floor together in this day and age is completely assinine, and what makes matters worse is that you refuse to play the way you played when you had your best success.

Absolutely... having Kendrick of the bench behind Bargs would provide a better balance imho. Kendrick makes less also. We have too much sslary investedin the center spot. Bargs and Kendrick would make so much sense for us.
Perkins makes $5.5 less in 14" final year than Chandler. Selofosha expiring $4 could come off books (or they could retain at right price) but Knicks are so far over cap that it wouldnt matter besides luxury tax savings. IMO, Mills should try to package Felton along with Chandler and then JR as his latest dustup fades and rid themselves of their player options for 15/16. Amare and Bargs combine for $35 in final year, Knicks are going to have to field a roster next year but they are going to have alot of coin to spend come 15/16 if they play their cards right. That was planned by Grunfeld and I keep my fingers crossed that Mills and Dolan dont fock it up. Add quality players only if any contracts are going beyond 2014

I am sorry but having Bargs and Kendrick at center would be the worse thing to happen. They both are not good. Bargs should be cut.

your thinking is limited and narrow-minded. it's a team game. you need a good pick and roll player or two to give him a chance to score and you need decent perimeter and help defenders to lessen the load he must bear on defense at the late stages of his career since he came straight from high school and is clearly not the physical specimen garnett is.
in other words it's about fit. he no longer fits because he doesn't have the right players to work with. it's all so easy to blame him.
numbers back this up: he shoots 55%FG, yet his usage is a paltry 13.3% and his assist rate is 8.0 for a winning ratio of 1.66:1. so he should be getting more touches but other selfish teammates are not getting him the ball. moreover it's hard to imagine a worse perimeter defender than felton and worse help defenders than the ones he is stuck with.
I'm no Tyson fan. Far from one but there is no doubt in my mind he would look a lot better under a coach with a real defensive system

Smith’s behavior has improved over the past week, and he’s playing better, which is a positive for Woodson. But with Philadelphia in town on Wednesday and the Knicks in the middle of a make-or-break eight-game home stand, Chandler’s public critique is a sign that Woodson is losing the faith of his players.
Losing Udrih or Smith isn’t a deal-breaker for Woodson. But losing Anthony or Chandler, who has grown close to Mills, would be too much for Woodson to overcome.
