Right after Grunwald was fired, there was a rumor that he had been prevented from pursuing LaMarcus Aldridge in order to get Andrea Bargnani. If any of that is true, whoever made that call (and we all know who made the call), should be shot (figuratively). Aldridge is balling out of his fucking mind right now.

Grunnie leaked that to make himself look good. It's like saying he wanted to get Lillard, but Dolan made him get Beno instead. I would have loved to have got Aldridge but there wasn't a hope in hell of it happening.

My thinking exactly. But we did have our players trade value inflated, so I still wonder if the talks could've been serious. The Lakers did get Pau Gasol, after all, in a salary dump (Marc Gasol was an afterthought in the deal).
bargi would be good fit if he would knock down the shots he suppose to and at least play ok defense

That is a stretch, considering his baseline with this team. This guy is no better than Andray Blatche, Anthony Tolliver, Josh McRoberts and the like but is being paid 12-times as much and cost us draft picks. That says something about our front office.

Yeah Grunwald could have gotten us Aldridge, all he would have had to was trade Melo and we'd be right back where we left off.
No reason for Grunwald to be fired but I thought the Bargs move was his type of trade. Not a lot of risk with the players given up and the cap space parachute if Bargs didn't work out.
While we are playing this game, why not trade for LeBron too..
I never believed this story because really, what player besides Carmelo could be dealt for a legit 20/10 PF? Shump? Felton? Even Chandler with an inflated value would be a stretch.
