you guys should check out the whitlock podcast from last week
on it he says the knicks media policy sucks. surprised this didn't get any play .. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=10299724
he also goes onto say that if only he coulda talked to the media, the fans woulda been more understanding of his genius, and that the team he was building with Lee, Ariza, Crawford, Nate, and Z-Bo, would now be competing with the Heat and Pacers.
They wouldn't compete with Indiana and Miami but they'd beat the crap out of our current team.
I love how Isiah always conveniently avoids bringing up Curry, Jerome James, Tim Thomas, Mo Taylor etc
But yea gm ad that team been allowed to grown together they would've beat the day lights out of this current team
The Nets just best the crap out of us, as did the Nets and Raptors. It's not saying much.
His teams were consistently awful and also showed zero willingness to play defense. Lets not get silly here.
if you want a better team- go back before Stat and those moves and be patient and this could very well have been our starting five:
C= Mozgov
PF= David Lee
SF= Wilson Chandler
SG= Iman Shumpert
PG= Jeremy Lin
Add little Nate Nutjob to the bench and Danilo 'Always Hurt' Gallinari and you'd have a team that would compete- not to mention keeping our own picks and the cap room we might have had even with this bunch.

In what universe would this team compete for anything?!

That team would actually be pretty good. You put MDA to coach that team and they can definitely get you past the 2nd round at least.

This team would have whittled under big game pressure except Nate Robinson

Exactly, that looks like a .400 team...

Isiah is Dolan, this guy Zeke is a laugh.

That team is no better than what the Lakers have now.

Every move was the result of a previous move. We would never have Lin, for example, in any other scenario.

Seriously. Add to that the injury history Lin, Wilson, and Gallinari and things look even worse.

True - but then we'd have kept our own draft picks.
Go back further and undo the Eddy Curry trade and add those draft picks: Joakim Noah and LaMarcus Aldridge.
I think I could do this all do long. All of the moves this organization have made us worse, with the minor exception being the prior 2/3 years.
But the 54 wins are not likely to be replicated anytime soon- at least that I see.
It's very convenient of him to leav out the curry trade where we gave up Aldridge and Noah
Bottomline is mistakes are made by most GM's. The smart ones hold on to assets in order to retool if need be
Have to think Isiah takes a point guard in the Hill draft. Probably Jennings but maybe he goes draft guru and shocks by taking Holiday. Also, Isiah probably gets a big in the Gallinari draft. Would he have taken Bropez or Hibbert?

+1
i thought the more interesting thing is that Isiah criticized Dolan's sacred media policy ... to me that signals he's not really engaged with the knicks brass anymore.

That was a Dolan move.
When I.Thomas took the,Knicks job he said he wanted to build an east coast version of the MDA/Nash Suns. The Curry trade and the hiring of L.Brown were, IMO, moves that Dolan pushed because he was impatient.
Stephen A. was on the radio the other day saying that we could use isiahs eye for talent and that isiah Thomas never traded pics. And then forgot to mention the players in the curry deal and then said curry was balling. Should have been fired on the spot.
The pick he gave up for Marbury became Gordan Haywood few remember that mishap.
Isiah really said Ariza?? The guy he traded for Steve Francis?
What an embarrassment
