Knicks · Have you ever had the equivalent of Melo's 62pt game at work? (page 1)

We've all seen what happens when nba players get in the zone- just curious if such a thing is possible outside of basketball, in normal work. So have you ever had a day at work that was compatible to Melo's 62 point game? What happened?

I had one day at work, years ago when everything I said was hilarious and went down well- I ended up having to leave early before the magic wore off!

I do a lot of modeling and every day is like that

Definitely not.

I'm currently a free agent. But I think I have the potential to be a Dolan ass kisser. I don't think I ever had an arena of people cheer for me or my coworkers bow down to me though.

Most of my days are more like the JR elbow game.

Certainly never had anything close to a 62 Pt game but can relate to feeling like the rim is bigger than
it actually is when you are hot.

When I got my first million selling hit record. It was a great feeling to be number one on the national music charts and raking in all that money. Plus having all those fine women chasing me.

Are you a celebrity Papabear? Can I have your autograph?

I don't know about 62 pts in work but in comparison maybe flirted with a triple double with 30 pts playing 3v5

As a professional no. As a teen maybe. I used to park cars in elmsford on Friday and Saturday nights. We always made about $60 a night from tips. I had a night where I really busted it and made $120. As an 18 year old that was 62 points. Also got to park some sweet rides. That was a great job.

I worked food service in a hospital before and my part time shift was to serve dinner from 5-8pm. I fed everybody (70 patients) cleaned up and was at home before my shift ended and I lived an hour from the hospital lol. That's in the zone

They let you park cars as an 18 year old? I wouldn't want an 18 year old parking my car one year fresh off passing the road test. Maybe you looked old for your age haha

My boss had me teach a guy how to drive a standard on a customer's car. But yeah some people would give us money and ask to park their own car.

Dagger that was a long time ago and I am an old man waiting and praying to witness another Knicks championship. Yet still artists sample some of my songs by artists like Rick Ross, Jasmine Sullivan, R Kelly, Ghostface Killer to name a few. So I still get paid and own my masters and publishing.

Elton john? Lol

I'm joking but you got me researching. Let me find out you are Prince or some shit. Prince reportedly could play ball if you believe Charlie Murphy. You probably are Stevie Wonder cuz you have to be blind to love the Knicks

I did score 62 points once in a span on 2.5 hours.... at racquetball. :)

But at work... I had started this new job and everything I said was the right direction for the team to move in (Information Tech). Even when my mgr's mgr said what I had presented as "A" was actually "B" in reality. And he always knows what he's talking about (dude is smart), the gatekeepers of the process said I was right to treat it like "A" because company's IT policy says it has to be treated like "A" (which I had no idea about since I was new and in a completely new role).

That day, even when I said things like "I am not so sure about going with X or Y", the end result was bosses saying stuff like "he's right, how can you treat like X or like Y when there's this and that all mixed into one"? I had simply made the statement, because I had no idea.

Of course, normal processes and deliverables and to-dos went great too. Last minute requests got fulfilled; pretty much every wish was granted.
Then I went home n got some that night.

VDesai @ 1/27/2014 12:07 PM
Thats a funny question, but I totally think its possible. I'm sales at an investment bank, so I do a lot of presentations and the like and sometimes your just on and everybody is really feeling what you're saying. And then you can go out entertaining clients and you're killing it with dinner conversation etc. Its a good feeling when everything you say is totally hitting.
markvmc @ 1/27/2014 12:38 PM
Not sure about the 62 point equivalent at work, but I have occasionally felt as though the universe was a vast conspiracy being run for my benefit.
NYKBocker @ 1/27/2014 1:00 PM
I don't understand the question. Do you mean you do everything right and company still stinks?
