Kendall Marshall certainly was a nice find. Linning spent time in the dl. Also, I think the league is becoming more established. Guys are choosing it versus Europe. Former Knicks that spent time in the dl include Novak, Barron, J. Jordan, Tyler etc. I get what you are saying but I think it is a different way to get guys and with 15 man rosters there could be some movement trying guys out to see how they fit.

We won 54 games with a pg who just retired, If woodson is our coach we need to focus on a pg with a very high IQ, not some run of the mill d-league player who has a little potential
It would be nice to get Lowry but I don't wanna give up our youth, Kendall marshal from the d league is averaging 10 and 9 assist a game ... Pierre Jackson is a better prospect if he came in I bet 15 and 8.. And he is better then Felton it would be a automatic upgrade
A guy with no NBA experience whos the size of a squirrel is going to be an instant upgrade to Felton? Is that really what your saying?
In some ways he might be, but of course he is not all around better at this time. But, with a little seasoning, he might do a Jeremy Lin towards the playoffs.
That is all we can hope for. With Felton "What you see is what you get" and that isn't terrible, but it isn't going to take us out of the first or second round.
We have an up and coming scorer in THJr, a huge scorer in Melo and we need a PG to get the ball to guys like Chandler in a nice spot (not as worried about Tyler).
Really, this kid might be something quite disruptive on offense. And on defense, well, at least he won't allow pg's to blow by him like Felton, but yeah, he will get bodied.
But luckily we at least have some real centers on the team. We will make due.
Regarding how can we get him Crush - I wasn't aware of the slot thing. I wonder if they can just call him up, put him on a contract and then trade him?
We might be able to trade an equal salary (or sign one, if not Toure) and then throw in a 2nd round pick if need be.
What we have going for ourselves is his agent. If there is an opportunity for him to play on the Pelicans due to injuries and he is still getting no burn, we have a chance.

Exactly. Thank you...It amazes me how many people just equate the DL with terrible, no good players. Unreal..Incidently, no one's asking for a superstar here. Can I just get a decent PG upgrade, something better than what we have now? And not pay through the nose for it? That's all I ask...
Thing is if we want a PROVEN PG (is it a 1year rental or do we have to overpay in order to keep him in addition to to assets to acquire him), it will cut in our plans for 2015 to add possible 2nd or even 3rd ALL STAR, to go with Melo (and is Melo even staying)
Woodson and our coaching staff doesn't do a good job in developing players
A reason I want ALL OF THEM FIRED by the end of the year with a proven head coach/GM that will work together on building a team
I do agree we need an upgrade at the position though
But I have my eyes on stoppage PG's with the MLE like
Sessions
Bayless
Greviez Vasquez (as a SG playing 2 PG's like we did last season)
Darren Collison
Mo Williams
Jameer Nelson? I don't think Orlando will pick up his team option and he could be available but I would rather have some of the players above
Nate Robinson (doubtful with his ACL injury)
or MLE
==============
Trevor Ariza
Shawn Marion
in 2015 there is
Dragic at 8m per year
Lin at about 4-5m
Rhondo ???? at what salary and how he heals, I think he had benefitted from having a lot of veterans that had chemistry together but I don't think he is a TRUE ALL STAR caliber PG like CP3
Reggie Jackson (OKC could be cheap once again, letting talent walk)
Monta Ellis (opt out)
Tony Parker at his age I don't know but would need a huge paycut, closer to 5m at best with 2years and team option on 3rd
Irving, Rubio, Kemba Walker (talks of him wanting to walk but he is a RFA so likely would need to wait another year for them to either sign an LONG term deal to stay with their current teams, trade, or them taking the 1year qualifying offer which would likely result in a trade as well)
For this summer, in 2014
in addition to this years mid 2nd rounders, undrafted players, and continued development players that were drafted a couple years back like
Pablo should be our Rasheed Wallace like for the PG position, there for experience, NOT PT because he lacks the speed/quickness/size to defend a position, only some backups with limited minutes
Vet min 2 year team options/partial/fully guaranteed/non guaranteed depending on player
================================================================================================
Shaun Livingston, Livingston has been under rated for many years, he is a solid NBA PG that can start and come off the bench, a big part of the Net's turn around season that would have been better than Pablo with part of our MLE being wasted on him and MWP with James Johnson replacing him, instead we could have used the 3m MLE on another player like Darren Collison instead
Rodney Stuckey (player option for 2nd year while giving him the starting SPOT over Felton)
Darrius Morris/ Tourre Murry, potential with size and athleticism to play both PG/SG with a decent handle
Kendall Marshall
Charles Jenkins *a clone of a SMALLER Billups* that isn't a typical penetrating PG but used his shot and IQ to open things up, but he hasn't been given much opportunity or proven anything, he had a GREAT HIGH % shooter/scorer in all 4 years at college and is a great 3pt shooter with range but can he get it over NBA players now with more experience in Europe/D League....
New Orleans PG's in Brian Roberts and Pierre Jackson
Bobby Brown (a scorer like a Baron Davis)
Aaron Brooks
and please sign James Johnson at a 2 year guaranteed deal or partial guaranteed for 2nd year if Memphis doesn't resign him at a better offer than us
Just like Kendall marshal is better then Felton right now Pierre Jackson posted better numbers then Kendall marshal hence prob better then Felton
fitzfarm wrote:Just like Kendall marshal is better then Felton right now Pierre Jackson posted better numbers then Kendall marshal hence prob better then Felton
I don't know. Marshall was a lottery pick in 2012. Knicks needed to get that.
Pierre Jackson plays a lot like Isaiah Thomas who is a beast for sac town... There is no reason p jax cant be just as good as Isaiah Thomas,he's just as talented...IT is averaging 20 and 6 right now...
Also with Nash,Blake, famar coming back moving back can we steal Kendal Marshall away from lal

Agree. I think Jax or bobby brown when he comes back from China. Not sure how long the knicks can wait.
Tonight was a perfect exp of how bad Raymond fartdog Felton is the worst starting pg in the league
fitzfarm wrote:Also with Nash,Blake, famar coming back moving back can we steal Kendal Marshall away from lal
why would they do that when he is playing better than all 3 of them and is younger than all three of them and LA is not contending anytime soon?
fitzfarm wrote:Tonight was a perfect exp of how bad Raymond fartdog Felton is the worst starting pg in the league
True but as another poster memorably said on another forum,
Raymond Felton is proof that miracles do happen in the NBA!
At this point, I wonder how Chris Smith would do...
Bring in Jackson Dolan, you are looking more and more like a fool as the year goes on. We, actually you, might be giving a high lotto pick away, a game changing player...
Lets not forget hes the pitbull better than jeremy who?
Lin is worth every single penny more than Felton, especially considering Felton's contract goes beyond 2015 and is considered a backup at best and is declining
With Lin, we were capped out anyway and didnt cost us any assets to keep him
meanwhile
Novak, Kidd, Camby cost more than Lin
not to mention
MWP, PAblo, and then AB and those picks as well
All so Melo could initiate our offense and not trying to find balance between the 2 for the sake of the rest of the team
Lin makes other players better with his ability to penetrate/facilitate
While Felton just tries to make Melo happy by giving him the ball
Is this on the coach, Melo, or the decision not to keep Lin?
Because that is why we don't get easy baskets anymore and play uptempo basketball, needing JR Smith to be our #1 penetration player and facilitator
We need a entire new coaching staff before trading for a PG that we might not be able to keep anyway
In addition to losing Melo for NOTHING
just trade Melo, Chandler, and JR with Felton at this point and get assets back
while using the picks to address the PG and the MLE for a stoppage PG like
Pair Chandler and Melo with bad contracts of Felton and JR, ship out Iman to get rid of Pablo/MWP
and just tank for 2015 draft pick, with multiple picks in these next 2 years
For MLE target
Sessions
Darren Collison (who we should have targetted last summer instead of Pablo and James Johnson instead of MWP
Vasquez if available
Bayless
Mo Williams
NO's PG's
or look to acquire a PG and some of our holes in Melo, Chandler, JR Smith, Iman

When Felton is the primary PG the offense has absolutely no flow and really never has. All an opponent has to do is take away the guy's slow moving penetrating lob for an alley oop and he's got nothing; no outside shot, no D, etc...
Felton walks the ball upcourt in open space when he should be running and pushing the tempo.
Pulls up his dribble too early which forces other players to pick him up and compensate for the loss of valuable time.
Thinks like a shooting guard by looking for his shot before the assist
Sadly, the game has passed Felton by
He SOMETIMES pushes while 50% of the time Melo walks up to throw it to Chandler who looks to pass it back to someone else
It is predictable and doesnt work
For vet min, SA has some decent PG's to target if we can offer them a starting job
I just cant justify trading and paying for Lowry without knowing the certainty of his future in addition to Melo's future here
At this point if we can get any of these players at vet min deals, if we offer them the starting position
Livingston
Patty Mills
or even Nando De Colo
Roberts or Pierre Jackson
Kendall Marshall
Bobby Brown
btw, is Baron Davis still coming back? LOL
they would all be upgrades at the PG spot and Murry should be getting for PT since he is the only one capable of possibility defending that position
but Woodson is so stubborn and favors his PG's that cannot defend for their lives
but
with the MLE we can target better targets like
Sessions
Collison
Bayless
Vasquez
Mo Williams
