Honestly, Jeremy Tyler and i am not even joking
I think his combination of mobility/athleticism/length and ability to shoot/some post ups, speeds up our game and provides better help DEFENSE
We need to play at a faster speed to get easier baskets, more importantly put pressure on our opponents DEFENSE and exhaust them, we have too many slow players
Since we have him at a 2 year deal, I would like to build his confidence up, and see what he is capable of
And then see if Tyson Chandler still has DPOY value to him or close to it, he is a luxury that we don't currently need when STAT/Kmart back, and Cole Aldrich being a solid 3rd string
Tyler has a lot of potential and I think we all want to see what he is really made out of because of his age, he could be our future
In stead of giving major minutes to STAT and Kmart, let them slowly get back in to NBA shape, for a couple games playing backup, while Tyler is building confidence
NOTHING is wrong with that, at all, Poppavich gives his bench players the chance to showcase and build confidence in themselves
He lets them make mistakes and then corrects them *SOMETIMES in a not very nice way but very efficient and to the point, instead of the STAREDOWN Woodson does*
It is called PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
I don't need Tyler to start every game, I would like to give him a couple starts to reward him for his recent play, and give him a taste of being in a starting lineup vs on the bench vs bench players, so he knows what he needs to work on in practice to get to where he needs to be
Then still keep him in our rotation of PF/C especially at C, I think he speeds the game up, and he rotates/gets to the spots needed for the offensive rebound, charge, block shot, and timely cuts that Chandler is unable to do with his lack of speed/mobility
With Woodson, I fear he will pull the Copeland.
Despite Copeland having a career ending season run that was building momentum over the course of the season, working on his DEF/REBOUNDING and listening to his coach/mentors in Wallace/Camby/Thomas, and using it for our the playoffs. He was shot down with one poor game with a few minutes in the playoffs despite obviously needing his ability to spread the floor vs The Pacer's and Hibbert at PF/C, his ability to hit wide open 3pt shots, or draw the big man out and drive pass him to score or pass it back out to another player that earns a step for them, this was great for Melo and the Knick's spacing
Copeland's last 7 games alone he was averaging over 20pts, shooting over 50-55% in FG %, over 40% in 3pt with about 2 per game when used, high FT % shooter, he was about 5-7rebs a game but he improved on his BOXING OUT greatly, and he was doing all of this ALL THE TIME when given over 25minutes with consistency throughout the entire season
LOOK AT COPLELAND'S GAMELOG WHEN HE GETS OVER 25minutes a game, he does it in the flow of the game as well, when his shot is defended, he either moves the ball, or drives in for a pullup, all the way, or to dish it back out, which STATS don't show

So Copeland had a bad 10minutes in his first playoff game, look at how JR played and was enabled with Melo to take poor shots after poor shots against a PLAYOFF contending DEFENSE
Pablo was picked on with Kidd every minute played forcing help in addition to Chandler getting abused, but Woodson puts in the same players expecting a different result, that isn't coaching

So despite how well he played, Woodson favored hurt players over him which is another mental midget in my books, especially the way Hibbert was cheating and Chandler was getting abused
We were unable to get in the paint, period, everything was contested jumpers or 3pters because of Hibbert's help defense in addition to the size/athleticism/length and great, stubborn, DEF and rebounding of the Pacer's
The way we play, we generally do not look to make our opponents exert too much energy on DEFENSE
Basketball is all about making your opponent exert the most energy on both OFFENSE and DEFENSE, all with team work, deception, establishing dominance (if we have it), establishing role players, and reading our defense will continue to try to play and defend us
Like a boxer, we have to generate our own rhythm, sucking our opponent to play in to our motions, and ALL great team that won rings controls the tempo of the game
While we need to figure out how do disrupt our opponents OFFENSE, with different schemes, and without HELP for most players, (using deception on both offense and defense)
On DEFENSE that is why having a lock down defender at the SF and G/F position is very important, in addition to having 2 shot blockers/rebounders that are mobile so help can come in different directions and without being easily anticipated
And on OFFENSE taking quality high % shots with consistency, sometimes taking jabs just to see how they will play us, and then figure out a scheme that would totally catch them off guard. It is like a dance, going back and forth, then making our opponents question every play who to double, if they should double, who to leave open, and question themselves, like we often find ourselves doing now....
