Knicks · Washington looking for back up PG (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 2/10/2014 2:38 PM
Pretty simple trade Beno Udirih for Al Harrington and Washington's 2nd rounder 2014.

Nice call Briggs. Agreed, but is it a decent deal for them and when does Harrington expire?
gunsnewing @ 2/10/2014 3:41 PM

He meant for the NBA, so Felton doesn't count.

Not sure why Washington gives the Knicks a second rounder but I would do the deal if that was the case. Beno for a second rounder would be nice. Grunwald got that for Brewer last year.

People argue that 2nd rounders are t with squat yet we are looking to shake things up by acquiring one

Beno wants out no? I don't see moving a guy that doesn't want to be here and isn't contributing as shaking things up. He just isn't that valuable I think that is why the second round pick is being mentioned.

Beno Udrih Receiving Interest From Wizards
Feb 11, 2014 1:24 PM EST

The Washington Wizards are pursuing a trade to acquire a backup point guard.

Beno Udrih is high on the Wizards' list of targets.

Udrih reportedly has been unhappy with his role this season for the New York Knicks. He is averaging 5.6 points and 3.5 assists in 31 games.

If the Knicks get a second rounder for Beno do you try to send it to New Orleans for the rights Pierre Jackson

In a heartbeat but the asking price would be higher IMO.

SupremeCommander @ 2/12/2014 9:51 AM
why not ask for Glen Rice Jr

Is this fact or your own speculation? Link?

Hey, I think you may be right...If that's the case -- Demps needs to be talked down from that asking price. I think that could be accomplished (come on man, nobody's giving them that. That's first of all. Second, Lowry may be worth a 1st round pick--probably is, I just want us to finally draw the line and say NO--PJ, on the other hand, is 5'11" and hasn't played an NBA game yet)... If we can get him down, I feel we'd have as good a chance as anybody else with assets like cash (up to $3.2mm to utilize), a future 2nd rounder, Toure Murry, Jeremy Tyler, former lottery pick Cole Aldrich...Plus, we could expand this deal to involve Chandler and possibly take Evans off their hands (an idea I've considerably warmed up to the more I thought about it). They wanna get rid of Evans--he's had a rough year and he's hurt now. I don't see anyone knocking down their door with offers. Enter the Knicks with as many as 3 viable big men to chose from..Are these guys still looking for a big man? Chandler, Jeremy Tyler and/or Cole Aldrich could help them.

End of the day, we probably don't have any interest in this at all -- don't even know why I bother talking about it all the time.

I would prefer either Rice Jr, Singleton or Booker --- someone young who can play the SF position.

Rice Jr is an immediate improvement in terms of shooting vs Shump.

Either Singleton or Booker would provide legit SF size and defense next to Melo at the 3.

No more Al Harrington --- 2nd round pick is nice though --- but would rather take chance that a former 1st round pick fits better with Knicks.
