So whats the hold up...
JS3 @ 2/10/2014 3:32 PM
Woodson or GM(meaning Dolan), maybe a trade is coming?
knicks1248 @ 2/10/2014 3:33 PM
woodson and his foolish logic
franco12 @ 2/10/2014 3:34 PM
just because there is no minutes restrictions doesn't mean folks aren't gun shy about playing him too much.

It might make sense to move him to the starting line up. not sure you if you move Amar'e to the 5 or 4- maybe site Chandler.

No minutes restriction until the next injury

Exactly. Do you really want to run his body down? We still owe him like $25 mil next year.

he's said he's ready, he feels better then when he first came here and he looks incredible, explosive. Also the Knicks stink, and need a boost. KMart is out and Tyson is playing terrible.

Knicks need help. Why isnt he playing 30 mins per game, and honestly starting. If he says he can go let him go

smackeddog @ 2/10/2014 4:03 PM
He has arthritic knees- he's very much a 'think positive'/mind over matter guy, so he's telling himself what he needs to believe, but the reality is he is on a minutes restriction.

I was begging to start him last year to take the pressure of Tyson. Then he got hurt the second his minutes increased and I gave up hope

SupremeCommander @ 2/10/2014 4:08 PM
if Amar'e says he can go, he can go. Jimmy D wants to pay him $50 mil to get splinters?
gunsnewing @ 2/10/2014 4:08 PM
If you watched the okc game it is clear as day that Woodson starting lineup stinks. In both halves the bench outplayed the starters by far. Might have won the game if Woodson did not go back to the same starting 5 after the half. They came out flat in the 3rd again and got back in the game AGAIN WITH THE 2nd unit. There was ball movement in the 2nd unit between Pablo, Amare, Tyler and hardaway. The starters were just content watching Melo go on on one or one on five

I think every time I've heard Amare talk in the past 4 years it's always been about how much better he's feeling

That's why Melo signed with the Knicks, you didn't get the memo ?He knows Dolan will pay the big bucks for a lone star.

Amar'e is always supposedly "ready" and then suffers a relapse that causes him to miss 2-6 weeks.

He said this again after the OKC game? What was the context? So far this season, he's only said this as a way of telling Woodson to give him more minutes.
Vmart @ 2/10/2014 5:48 PM
Amare should start and he needs to get back to 30+ minutes a game. This is f'ing ridiculous He should be the starting center and Tyler should be the starting PF. Woody needs to get his head out of his azz. The best players need to be playing and that means Prigioni, Hardaway, Melo, Tyler and Stat. JR should be the sixth man. Shump should be 12th man. Chandler should be coming off the bench as the backup center to Amare. More pick and roll offense with Amare and Prigioni. Less Iso play and get Melo moving without the ball. Hardaway is a nice spot up shooter and he give the Knicks athleticism with the ability to finish on the break. Tyler gets great learning experience and can develop.

Woody is the holding this team back and he can't get out of his own way.

Bonn1997 @ 2/10/2014 5:56 PM
Keep in mind that Amare's defense is awful and the team's numbers are awful with him on the court. If you look at his PER and his opponent's PER, or his offensive and defensive ratings per 100 possessions, he's clearly still giving up more than he produces.

You can say the same for Chandler. Because his man almost always scores more point than him and yet he is called a defensive anchor. I believe in the Bill Russell school of thought must out score your opponent you matched up with.

holfresh @ 2/10/2014 6:14 PM
I'll run him into the groud..What are we saving him for..Either way we are losing..That starting lineup Woody runs out there is a joke...
