Knicks · What's really going on with Pierre Jackson? (page 1)

We've been debating it but wth is really going on? The kid is destroying the competition and his stocck is incredibly high now.

Getting a Draft pick wouldn't be enough if this was our player in Erie.

New Orleans has spent money but historically have been one of the teams crying broke since they moved there.

I'm thinking a guy like Jrue Holiday could be available....

Tyson, Felton, and Shump for Jrue Holiday, Aminu, and fillers like Stiemsma and Jason Smith

Guy is "listed" at 5'10..........

What i question is.... If he's soooo good, why havent they brought him up since Jrue Holiday is injured?

That's why I propose the idea

What's really going on with Pierre Jackson?

The Pelicans have no roster spots, and are paying him nothing....literally nothing. His trade stock continues to rise and they get to take their time to figure out what to do with all of their point guards. Time is on their side.

My guess is they don't want to lower his value. Perhaps they really think his height will be an issue and expose him.
Perhaps they sign him, keep him, don't bring him up and trade him...

What, all the teams that passed on him don't know he is short?

You want to raise his value you let him play on the varsity.

The nuggets and Cleveland are rumored to be interested? Why? They both have two stud point guards.

And wtf do they want for Pierre? He's only a d league guy. They are buggin out. He's not on an nba roster. They need to move this kids cuz they look bad here in my opinion. Pierre mentioned that he is thinking about playing in Europe to make money. This d league bullshit is putting a strangle hold on his career.

Not sure if the Knicks should sign brown or trade for Jackson. I think they could acquire either guy without giving up significant assets. Brown would just need a roster spot.

New Orleans invested 2 1st round picks on Jrue Holiday, one was the draft rights to Norlens Noel (who has a high ceiling and top 3 potential but fell in the draft due to his knee injury) and the other is a TOP 5 protected pick every year, starting with this year

Philly has 2 1st round picks this summer in the *DEEP DRAFT*, though its is top 14 protected to Heat ( traded around and now Boston owns it)
Also they have 2 2nd round picks, one by Houston and the other by the Net's
They are looking to ship out Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes, and possibly even Thaddeus Young *who has a player option at under 10m for 2016, so he can be a UFA as well in 2015)
Like many teams, they are looking to collect assets and preserve cap space, for 2015, and even for this summer for the chance to get Lebron
Following the model of OKC/Rockets, their core consist of the development of Michael Carter-Williams, Noel, Arnett Moultrie, Thaddeus Young (depending on if they keep him or not), Tony Wroten, 2 high 1st round picks this summer and 2 2nd round picks, and CAP SPACE with under 24m in combined salary for this summer and less than 10m in 2015 *none of these include the draft picks salary that they own*
They tried to make a blockbuster move by acquiring Bynum last season but quickly retooled by tanking, collecting assets, and preserving cap space

ALL teams in the entire league realize the potential in 2015's UFA's pool, and will likely not want to take poor contracts like Felton that go beyond 2015

Sure I would love such a move, however, it is not a realistic trade given the circumstances
Many of us here realize the potential to improve if we can collect assets, trading our poor contracts, tanking next summer, and utilizing the MLE this summer effectively
Trading Melo and unloading some of poor contracts would be in the best interest of our team for the long run, with 1 1/2 year's away
Trading Chandler, unloading some of our poor contracts, and collecting assets like the rest of the league

We tried to build a contender and have failed, it is time to realize it, and move on....
We simply cannot risk Melo walking for NOTHING like D12 and Lebron and Bosh has done (though they were traded in the end, they were willing to walk for nothing)
Melo has made it clear that he will opt out this summer and also does not want to wait till 2015 to contend
After he said the 2 things above, he then said that he looks to retire a Knick and would take less than the max IF it would help the team *BUT IT WOULDN'T, NOT UNTIL 2015
Well what is "LESS than MAX", because his max deal starts at 24-27m per year, while Kevin Love and Aldridge's max deal starts at about 17m
