That's a reasonable question. The short answer I'd give is defense and decision making (particularly the assists and turnovers). That said, i wouldn't want Deng at more than around $6 mil per.

The way i see it--the Knicks management will say we did not have our whole team together(although no team did in the NBA) and that we believe IF they are together we can be a champion--maybe a ploy at PG--something like giving an ending contract + a pick to Toronto for Lowry--something like that--I think Chandler is still here JR Smith Felton Amare just a year older.

My hope is they are agressive into the 2nd part of the draft buying in I still see the future--with Carmelo or without is younger players like Portland and Oklahoma with a sustainable model.

Honestly prefer they ride it out to the space for 2015 rather than trade for longer contracts.

For next yr: I hope Woodson is gone, PG is actually addressed and they get some tougher bigs to either backup or replace Chandler. The latter 2 were things that should've been figured out for this season.

Unfortunetly we will have basically the same team. We dont Know what Melo's status will be yet. Tyson and Amare have expiring contracts which may be valuable. The good news is that we couldnt tarde a 1st round pick so we have a good chance to get a decent player in the draft. then we will have cap space in 2015

Yea let's solve our poor spacing and lack of ball movement and inadequate defense by getting Rudy Gay. From your mouth to Isaiah's ears.

Also, Bargs expires in 2015. Shrewd move by Grunwald.

Ack! I need us to make some significant trades to give me reason to watch this crap in the weeks ahead! Just don't see it happening though- post 20th Feb is going to be bleak...

With a few more "shrewd" moves, we should be down to around .300

Oh yes! Trading 3 picks, including a 1st, to dump the contracts of players he signed is incredibly shrewd. Better hope no other teams realize our brilliant plans!

We would have been in a strong position going forward if we had made the lowry trade. At the time the Raptors weren't playing great ball and his price wasn't as inflated. The Knicks would have been able to include, Felton, Metta and a draft selection, perhaps shumpert which isn't a big loss. He can't get his head on straight. Has potential, but likely will not reach here.

Having Lowry, Hardaway, Melo and the ability to move someone like Chandler for younger assets would have put the team on the right track.

The Knicks should still move Chandler. If that turns into getting an upgrade at the point it would be great. If not the Knicks really need to look at some of the guys available out there. Bobby Brown's season in China is over. Jackson in NOLA maybe available, there are some dleague guys including Seth Curry that might be worth giving a shot. The Rockets added Beverly last January after his run in the euroleague and it has worked out well for them. Marshall is working out well for the Lakers. There are guys out there. The Knicks just need to be smart.

And I bet he'd have to give up more picks just to get rid of Bargnani now!
