Knicks · Knicks interested in Jeff Teague (page 2)

Doesn't Teague hate Woodson for playing Bibby over him?

Woody ain't going to be around for long, and also the aim is to send Teague to the raps.

Ah apologies smacked I missed your other post. The knicks really want Lowry bad.

I hear talks about Jeff Teague in a trade with the knicks. My first response is: "when do we play the hawks next?" it must be soon because trade rumors always start between the teams were ABOUT to play to keep fans interested in the game..smh

I like him but he is not my idea of the player to turn this around
tj23 @ 2/17/2014 4:16 PM
Man I would love JT
TeamBall @ 2/17/2014 4:17 PM
Any trade to upgrade the PG position has to involve shipping Felton out too. He's shown what happens when he doesn't start.

smackeddog wrote:Ah, so according to the article we may be interested in Teague as a 3 way (Lowry to Knicks, Shump to hawks and a hawks pick to Toronto). Failing that we're interested in Teague.

Oh ok so that makes sense then. Lowry is tough. We've been talking about him since he was in Memphis. I think this is our guy. Knicks need to keep trying to chip away.

If this is the plan I'm wit it

teague is not worth both felton and shump. I think Shump will turn it around sooner or later, felton i would trade for a bag of potatoes at this point

Why you dissing on potatoes?

Pretty much. Love P&T!

The 3 way deal w/ Shump heading to ATL, Lowry to Knicks, ATL 1st rounder to Toronto would still be a risky move if Lowry were to stay (he's out quite a bit) or leave after the year.

franco12 @ 2/17/2014 4:46 PM
Teague might be an improvement - but how capped out are we aiming to become?

Honest- every move seems to make things worse?

Does this remind anyone of the Isiah years?

gunsnewing @ 2/17/2014 4:48 PM
That's what happens when you give up every asset and devalue your own players. Very reminiscent of the Isiah years

Actually worse. At least Isiah drafted Lee, Wilson and Nate

You're right - this is more like the Layden years- where we were capped out, never got a good draft pick- except those teams were at times competitive - kept games close, and over achieved.

i think it's a rumored 3 way with the knicks ending up with lowry while teague and a pick(s) go to toronto while shumpert + parts go to atlanta.

i think atlanta didn't really want to match the offer sheet for teague but did it anyway not to lose the asset.

hawks have played well but are now starting to slip. they have lost alot of games recently and ferry may think it's best to quickly shift to the tank route. and dumping teague's deal opens up some space for him.

teague is owed $8 mil a year for the next 3 years after this one.

i think the knicks really want lowry and ujiri is just sitting back and waiting for the knicks to buckle. i don't know if you guys will tho - but you never know what kind of pressure melo is putting on the front office.

as a raptors fan...i am really not sure what is going to happen with lowry.

is ujiri just doing due diligence and that's what all these trade discussions are - just seeing what's out there?
or does he believe lowry is not the long term answer for us (and by us i mean raptors)?
or has lowry indicated his contract demands and ujiri doesn't want to match them?

whatever the case, lowry is a baller - he is a leader and he is a bulldog. he's a guy that always wants to win. but he's a major personality that clashes with all his coaches. but i don't think that's a big enough scare to pass on him.

i'm hoping the raptors get something of real value if they move him - and that means picks + young players or an upgrade in talent.

i am not a fan of teague so i don't want him. but he's accompanied by hardaway jr and a pick, then i wouldn't mind as much. even tho i think hardaway is basically a catch and shoot player right now without any defense.

8 per?

Is teague better than Lin?

BTW? Is Tyler really able to play starter minutes?

ESPN says the Knicks are considering a three-way deal for Lowry and a straight up acquisition of Teague.
http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/...
Not sure how Teague fits here, but at least he wouldn't cost us a first-round pick or THJ (at least I hope he wouldn't). Lowry is a better player than Teague now, but I'm not surethis isn't a fluke year for Kyle. Teague is overpaid, but Lowry will end up being overpaid next season anyway. I think the Teague deal is probably the best move for us.

They're comparable. As for Tyler, I haven't seen enough to make a call. I like what I've seen from him though and he could use more minutes.
GustavBahler @ 2/17/2014 7:26 PM
Must be getting old because I've seen Teague play many times but not well enough to remember any specifics, I guess. From what I've seen of Lowry he seems like the better choice but not for THJ. Forgot who posted that article about some of Hardaway's stats but they looked like those of a vet, not a rookie. We still don't know what his ceiling is yet, but so far it looks pretty high. My only real concern about THJ's game is his lateral movement on D, that has to be a priority. Also do a better job of anticipating what the ball carrier is going to do as well.

They're crap. We already know this. They have records that predate Woodson.
