He could easily play crappy knowing his old man is loaded and stands to inherit money. But he goes at it and challenges himself to be better. That is rare to find in players.

I compared THJ to Ray Allen and H2O. That's right this guy is the best finisher the team has on fast breaks and has a knack for drawing contact and finish his shot with a good attempt. I want a PG also but I would attempt to go another route like D league or Bobby Brown. Lowry is playing for a contract and that is a big red flag to me. Teague I like but only if the Knicks can move Felton and Shump two players that I feel are hurting the Knicks and are in need of a scenery change.

dude. Your right. I mean we have Murray. We have Beno. We have Prigs. We have Felton... your right, you can always get PGs. But good PGs that impact the game? Those are the kind Im talking about trading for.

Right now THjr is a shooter who has shown zero ability to contribute in any other way. No rebs. No passes. No defense. He has not even shown flashes.

I like him also... but he's a chip right now, nothing more. Lowry is a piece of the puzzle. THjr might be 3-4 years.

I would trade him for Lowry. Not for Teague.

I am right. The Knicks were able to get a good PG this way or have forgotten Lin. There are PGs out there that are way better than Felton it's just up to Knicks management to get them. They chose poorly last year or they just chose Beno who doesn't seem to fit in the Woodson defensive scheme of switching. With that said Knicks could easily have worked themselves into the Bledsoe deal by trading Shump. There will be deals available Knicks need to keep the eyes open and choose wisely. Once again Collison was available also.

The Knicks biggest problem is that they don't trust their development system to produce a good PG or they automatically assume they got crap and that goes for all the young players.

Vanilla PGs can be had anywhere. Good ones cant. Speaking of Lin, thats why the Rockets offered massive cash to a player who had a what? 40 games under his belt? The reason the Rockets did that was because they understand that QUALITY PGs are VERY hard to aquire. Look at how much Jeff Teague makes. Guy is utterly average, but look at the Knicks and you can see why teams would rather overpay for an average PG then suffer through a season with terrible ones.

If you think you can just get a guy to effectively QB an NBA team your mistaken. The draft isnt an option because the two best player on this team wont be in 3-4 years when the PG you draft matures.

Well the draft and our 2015 lottery pick IS AN option see Rondo and lliard but we don't trust the Knicks to draft an elite PG

Or resign a 30+ year old Melo and hope that we don't settle on more malcontents and injury riddled former stars

why when Melo gets traded he yields a good young core you can build around? Why dont those picks turn into Marcus Fizer and Keith Van Horn?

Do you not remember what happened last time we had a losing team? Not only do you LOSE constantly but you cant even properly guage your talent because of the losing.

Do you not remember David Lee's 20ppg 12rebs and 55% shooting in his contract year? Folks around here were desperate to get rid of him because he didnt defend, padded his stats and those great #s didnt translate to wins. Guess what? He's pretty good after all.

Melo isnt getting traded, so just let that go.

Sadly - I think you're right about Melo not being traded.

As for judging talent on losing teams - I never had a problem with David Lee- and I liked KT during his first stint. The fact is, people can judge talent on losing teams. It is not impossible, though it may be for our ownership and FO.

I keep hoping for some sort of trade but then I think 'when was the last time we won a trade?' Erm... I honestly can't remember.

Best trade was Isiahs. He flipped some scrub Nazr? to the Spurs for Malik rose and two #1s which turned into Nate and David Lee. Pretty damn solid

Yep- so I suppose that means one good trade in the past 15 years- yikes!

That was a good deal, and Nazr went on to win a chip. So both teams were happy.

Damn that was pretty shrewd of Isaiah
