Yes we must rebuild. We are on our own. No one will help us in trades. Also players will use us like they have been for years to get more money. So lets buy draft picks , keep our own picks,get players from the CBA and players from over seas. Let's get a good coach and GM in here and grow this team. As for Melo he will be about 34 years old before we will be able to compete so maybe he should leave and let him get his ring because of what I see now this team is bad and all of the player we think is good are just fair. Our defense suck and they all must go because we must bring in new young blood. Dolan needs to sell this team now!!!
I think other GMs love us, actually. And as for refs...they're so far from being our problem...

Other GM's love us because we are suckers. We gave a 1st rounder and 2 2nd rounders for BARGS, think about that for a minute. The GM of the Raptors said in the press conference when he was hired his main job was to trade bargs. He then said if he could not trade him they would amnesty him. The fact that people actually defended that trade shows me that some fans deserve the crap that the Knicks are now.

please give some examples of what players use the knicks to get more money, or the gm's that refuse to take any of our vastly under performing players on this roster

The most blatant example to me was Wilson Chandler, if I am not mistaken, prior to being in the Melo deal the Knicks started having contract discussions with him and he was looking for insane money, as close to max as possible. No way he even locates the balls to do that with another team.

So if a job offers you a lot of money to work for them, do you say no i rather work somewhere else for less. The knicks offer players money because they have no other option (at the time) like in the case of Amare, and Jerome..

Slow your roll dude. How about some perspective. We took the PAcers to 6 games last year and we had the lead in the 4th quarter with a game at the garden looming if we pulled it out. In the off-season, we lost absolute scrubs, and we added THJ and MWP. Other than that, same team, the one that gave Miami fits all last season. So i don't think it was crazy for some of us to have been ok with adding another interesting piece heading into the season. It made sense to be buyers, not sellers at the time.
We didn't trade Bargs straight up for the picks, we unloaded our garbage on them too; garbage that expires after Bargs. And most people figured we'd be picking after 20 teams in the draft for the next few years. Most people also figured Bargs would be a better fit on the court than Amare and could help space things out.
Nobody thought it was going to put us over the top to win a ring; but as to whether or not it was worth a roll of the dice with everything factored in...it was debatable. Now that JR, Sump, Felton and Chandler suck, those picks are probably going to be higher than we thought they'd be. WE all knew Bargs could wind up sucking, but some people thought he might do better this year with the talent on the team. Well, there is no talent on the team and Bargs sucked. So yea, everything sh*t the bed and we lost on the trade...which is easy to say when you look back now. But let's not make it like anyone who thought the Bargs trade was ok deserves the torture that we receive every other night. It was debatable, maybe we should have even known better...but at the time it certainly wasn't as brutal as you're making it out to have been, or as bad as it turned out to be.

What does what we did in the playoffs have anything to do with my statement? because we were in the playoffs it then makes a bad trade a good one? It never makes sense to buy trash.

Camby and Novak would be easier to trade than Bargs is. Being a better fit on the floor than Amare does not make that trade a good one. Amare is an absolutely terrible basketball player. I could probably find you D league players that are better than Amare. Some people see Amare sometimes score and think he had a good game. What I see if he is making up for some of the points that he gives up on D. The plus/minus stat is flawed in some ways but there is a reason he is almost -200 on the season.

If this was not going to put us over top why do the trade? It is not debatable if that trade was worth it. We stink and that trade stinks. Look at the value teams are putting on 1st rounders this season.
It was easy for me and a few other posters to see just how bad this trade was the moment we knew all the parts that were involved. I do agree with you that no one deserves the level of crap that the Knicks are now. I was angry while writing my last post. I should have said that the posters who were defending the trade should have known this would be an absolute disaster. When you need to go 2 seasons back to find any footage to put in a highlight reel that should be proof enough.

This was on Twitter and Bleacher Report. Take it for what it's worth. I tried to find it but only found references to it on google but no direct quotes. There was a lot of back and forth as to if it was his demands, the CBA, a combination of both. At the end of the day, regardless he was asking north of 10 mil per and ended up with way less than that. I was really proud of the Knicks for putting their foot down for once. Players like him typically get what they want from the team.

WILSON CHandler was a good young player for the knicks.. very good.. I would rather overpay him than give guys like Bargnani 13 mil a year... and overpay guys like tyson chandler...
