It isn't about what he can do or can't do
It is about if we have the ability to pay him and surround him with the talent needed to compete, we cannot, not unless he takes less in 2015 and recruit successfully
But if he is willing to take less, he can go to a contender this summer, and we still will not be able to compete with or without him next year
Our best bet was to dilute all of our asset's players this past deadline but despite all the obvious, Dolan chose to do NOTHING, or NOT to continue the starphuq like Net's are doing...

Didn't he say that he wanted to play for the Knicks?? When did he say that he wanted to play for the Nets?
The GREAT D.Walsh was all for trading Gallo, Chandler, Felton, 1Pick and swapping 2014 pick for Melo.....he ONLY BULKED when Denver wanted future Hall of Famer MOZ as well.
So, we are blaming Melo because he signed off on a "sign and trade" put together by D.Walsh and M.Ujiri instead of waiting for FA and maximizing his earning potential? To possibly lose money and put faith in an organization that members on this site don't believe are capable of ever doing the right thing?

The trade did not hurt the knicks. The deals after the trade hurt the knicks but it is what it is. People stand on one side or the other.
Not going 2 for 1 late would have been something else Melo could have done.

lol, it's Melo that made the decision not to sign Lin...still going with that, huh? not one team in the NBA wants anything to do with his current contract, including the Rockets, and you're still holding onto Melo, not the contract, being the reason he's not here.

sub Melo for any player in the nba (outside of 3 or 4 guys), and we lose this game by double digits. WE don't have a second scorer, and Melo is dead tired at the end of these games. The iso BS at the end is irritating, but that's mostly on Woodson.

Totally agree! Also, baring a Miami style play collusion, I can't imagine any star player being stupid enough to trust these guys. Every move they have made following the Melo deal was a disgrace. They play without a PG and a natural small forward. Are you kidding me?

so you want to argue over whether Melo is the 5th best player in the NBA or the 11th best player in the NBA? I don't really think it's that big of a difference either way dude. you're the biggest Melo hater in the world and you're pretty much admitting that he's the 11th best player on the planet..think about that. We can probably both Agree that there are hundreds of players better than Amare in the world, and he makes more than Melo....but all you want to talk about is how big a POS Melo is for only being the 11th best player.

you are being silly.. I am not admitting anything.. I threw 10 out there.. honestly I can name 15, and if you look at my previous post, I just showed you one guy, who is not even top 30 in the league, yet he led us to a win over the mavs, a couple of years ago while fat melo was nursing an injury..
