Jimmer wouldn't just be to try to improve this dumpster fire of a season. He's a 25 year old with potential that could possibly be signed to a very small deal. He's at least worth giving a shot for the rest of this season.

I agree with you I just don't think there is reason to get excited given the actions of the knicks FO and coach.

Yeah, me neither. And I don't think he'll sign up for this circus anyway. He'd really be better of with almost any other team in the league. Off the top of my head I think the Lakers make the most sense for the rest of this season. Their backcourt is in shambles so he'd be almost guaranteed playing time and he'd be playing in a system that would best showcase his talents.

as much as i would love jimmer wearing orange and blue, remember guys who get bought out go to contenders.
Look for miami picking him up in a mike miller kinda role
or spurs, or okc or dal

Ny can offer him to start the rest of the year and that's something I guess. I wonder if Utah might make a claim but other than that the kings tried to trade him since he got there and no one pulled the trigger.

Shumpert to the Hawks for some combination of Dennis Schroeder/Mike Scott or Shelvin Mack/Mike Muscala maybe. Something like that. We need help all over..

Hawks view Schroeder as a piece for the future. There's no way they would have traded him for Shumpert.

Then Mack maybe although now I would've wanted the better 4-man of the two, Muscala (although this dude Scott has really come on to become a player -- I remember tuning in to catch Sylven Landesberg play a lot at UVA and remember Scott well but never thought he'd be this good. He's like a slightly below-the-rim K-Mart only with a much better jumper. Dude's out there knocking down mid-range Js and 3s like nothing this year...He's turned into a very nice NBA rotation player)...This is only one team, one scenario. I wonder how many scenarios we actually looked at beyond Darren Collison, Teague, Lowry and the low 1st round pick from Oklahoma City..

Yeah, but so could the Lakers. And the Bulls could guarantee him a bunch of time. Also, I wouldn't trust Woodson if I were him.

If it plays out that Felton isn't back with the team Jimmer could start if he came to NY.
gunsnewing @ 2/25/2014 12:12 PM
Woodson would destroy a young PG like Jimmer

You would start Jimmer over Marshall a true PG? Also, is Heinrich playing two again with Butler out? I don't think Jimmer is a Thibs guy regardless though. I wouldn't quite trust him but his option may be thin. If NY was smart enough to target and get him it would give him a chance to show case himself with heavy minutes with a lot of spot up opportunities playing with Melo. MDA would be a nice choice though to get your value increased as a pg though.

Along with every other PG in the league with a half decent first step. I'm not against bringing Jimmer, but I'm not expecting much. Jut some three point shooting and scoring off the bench.

EnySpree @ 2/25/2014 12:32 PM
Jimmer is a point guard that could ignite his career in ny. The stage is set. Jimmer is a slick ball handler like Mike Bibby with one of the best jump shots in basketball. His defense is going to be bad but come on now.... can the knockdown do better?

Jimmer would be free! A gift from the heavens.

Jimmer and Thjr aka splash bros east lol

smackeddog @ 2/25/2014 12:47 PM
Just what we need- another scoring PG who can't shoot, defend and is unathletic and slow footed so won't be able to stay in front of his man- sign me up!
gunsnewing @ 2/25/2014 12:48 PM
Wonder how long it would taske him to grasp Woodson's brilliant defense? Or will he get thrown under the bus like beno
yellowboy90 @ 2/25/2014 12:49 PM
I can't wait for the Jimmer, THjr, JR, and STAT line up. That would be glorious.

I was thinking that LA could start him at the 2 and go with a dual PG backcourt which was very successful for us and Phoenix. As for the Bulls, if Nate Robinson could play successfully for Thibs I think anyone can and with all their injuries in the backcourt they could definitely use another healthy body.

That's usually true of vets who are ring chasing. For a guy coming off his rookie deal, looking to showcase himself and secure his next contract (not to mention, wanted to be a Knick at draft time) - we have a shot here.

Maybe, I think Nate is a better defender and was more of a facilitator coming over from Golden State. Nate's numbers resembled Ty Lawson's from points, ast rate, and etc. NY is probably not Jimmer's best choice and like I said before I doubt they would like him unfortunately. Woodson wants veterans to make a feeble attempt at the 8th spot.

EnySpree @ 2/25/2014 1:12 PM
Not to be funny but getting jimmer would give the knicks a potential star at point guard. Add that to jeremy tyler and Thjr.....oh lord jesus is a fire!

That's a power fwd, pg and sg on the come up. What more can you ask?

BRIGGS @ 2/25/2014 1:26 PM
The whole key of making the *Carmelo* Anthony Knicks a good team is by fitting players with synergistic skill sets around him. Jimmer would provide *Steve Kerr* type play--knock down 3 ball--is able to handle the ball find the open man and make his shots. On top of it Jimmer has the ability to get to the basket. Kerr was not a great defender but he was part of great team defense. Its harder to guard Carmelo with an expanded floor where the other team needs to spread out. The more players that can hit open shots--the less load Carmelo has.
