I would pretty much say the season is officially done now.
This season was done when Woody waved the white flag in preseason.
Season was over before the All Star Break when we lost to PHI, MIL and SAC

was said before the season started. that is not leadership. and what was said cannot be unsaid.

Have to wonder if the team should cut loose Kmart and try a young guy in his spot. His issue is either chronic or he is being saved for the playoffs.

this team should cut every mediocre to crappy vet it has, sign some of these young guys, and then bring back Charlie Ward to lead us in prayer. that's the best available option

Knart has a one year deal I believe. Not sure who else fits that category but it makes sense to look at young guys and available talent to make some positive additions to the roster.
Melo still trails Durant by 3.4 pts for the scoring title. Scoring win become the priority from here on out for Melo.

I think Melo has done a great job of playing the best ball of his career, but I agree, this statement really did seem to set the tone for the players, and I think perhaps subconsciously, they gave up before the season started.

It was not needed, Melo wanted to listen to his CAA agents, and CREATE A HYPE in the best interest of his client and the future of Melo
They wanted to see if they can continue to grab Dolan by the balls, in addition to seeing the best options for both $$$ and the best team to contend with
I don't think Melo or his agents saw this type of season coming though, not after the glamorous 54wins and Atlantic Title
