Lets face it Knicks need to rebuild. We know Dolan loves to starphuck but it doesnt work with this team. We should have fired woody and traded tyson/melo for picks and yougn assets. I understand rebuild isnt appealing BUT to be fair the Knicks are probabky worse off doing the usual crap they have been doing since 2000.
Yeah, we should have cleaned house about 12 years ago actually!

i wish we could have cleaned up the ownership
The enormity of the miscalculation stunning. I disagree with those suggesting owner doens't want to win, absurd. Of course he wants to win, those suggesting more money made elsewise simply wrong.
They rolled the dice - desperately - extended for Melo, (could anyone have foreseen he and Amare wouldn't work together?), and, then, absolutely waste a pure gift by using amnesty for Billups in desperate effort (note: to win, folks) instead of jettisoning the single worst contract in sports history - Amare.
Three 'superstars' aggregated - each with desperate moves to get them, mortgaging the future. Didn't work, should have moved what they could of those three.

I never said he didnt want to win i simply said he is a moron who should stop trying to act like a GM because he sucks at it. I mean this year would ahve been a good year to have our 1st round pick and thats gone. We wasted anither pick on Bargnani who has been a disappoinment ever since he was drafted. I understand they went all in but they didnt have a real plan

i dont see the team dropping amare 1 year into that contract for exactly what you mention, trying to build something to win with right away. not sure the FO would have seen enough of amares issues to see that they cut him and see what happens with the cp3, harden , etc later on.
We shouldve did what Boston did by trading our stars for picks and young talent. Probably would've made the playoffs with a new cast around melo and a new coach. Oh well time to move on now.. hopefully dolan and company are taking notes. And don't intend to repeat history. Again...And again...And again....and..
James Dolan didn't want to win, he has money to waste , he just experimented trying to be GM listening to Isiah.
We should have done something, basically at least decide if we will rebuild in 1.5 years or STARPHUQ
I think it was our last chance in getting back good value in Chandler/Iman in addition to trading Melo if they wanted to ensure not losing him for nothing
Our best shot this off season I think is
Felton
JR
Melo
for
Asik
Lin
if they are 15m a piece, the salary would all match up, they have tons of Picks, they own ALL of their future 1st rounders, in addition to many 2nd rounders of other teams, and 2nd rounders
That clears our salary for 2015 up in one move and sends Melo out of the Eastern Conference to a team that has no state tax and allows use Melo to team up with ALL STAR's
Harden
Melo
Dwight
2nd tier stars, GLUE PLAYERS
Parson
Terrence Jones
Beverly
JR Smith
D Jones
(the Euro G/F we drafted and traded for Felton)
3m MLE
GREG SMITH?
Isiah Cannon
Their vet min G/F's
Felton as a backup/3rd string is not that bad in limited minutes with a team like that
Then shop AB or Chandler and Iman to OKC for salary dump one of their young players and either 1 1st rounder and 1 future 2nd rounder
I would build up Tim Hardaway JR's value up and see what I can get out of him too, possible trade him this summer while we are at it, to get rid of Pablo's 3rd year contract
Lin and Asik can be part of our 2015 plans or not, we can even sign and trade them if they are not, after we SIGN 2015 UFA's, just like Net's did for Joe Johnson
and then be able to use the full 5m MLE, on top of it, instead of the room exemption
