Knicks · IF Amare JR and Tyson continue play like this (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 3/8/2014 11:25 PM
the Knicks will get the 8th seed.
CrushAlot @ 3/8/2014 11:27 PM
Agree. Knicks have the sixers next. Also, how about Shump, Felton and Prigs games. The team is playing well.

I Thought they should trade everybody and get draft picks....LOL

Amare/Melo/Chandler lineups have outscored opponents by 17.7 pts per 100 plays in March. Same group got beaten by 10.1 per 100 plays in Feb.

The question is - will we be playing Indiana or Miami and can we compete if we do make it in?

By starting they build chemistry. No in and out and looking over shoulders. This is what I plead for last season. Much better than watching Melo go 1 on 5

With this back-court, I don't see how.

Give j r smith credit over the last 3 it shows definitively that Smith is the starter and Schumpis the back up

Shumps D last night was ridiculous!

Give JR Smith credit? shudder!

Felton actually played ok but this back court is still the worst ever and we can't with with them - ever.

Maybe Bobby Brown can give them a jolt.

What Does that have to do with anything right now???
SupremeCommander @ 3/9/2014 1:56 PM

I don't even care about all of that at this point. Just for the pride of all NY I would like to see this team make the playoffs. It's crazy that this team should have such a poor record. The talent level isn't bad enough to warrant such a poor record. Now we see when players perform closer to their career talent level this team is competitive. They should've been playing this way all year. I don't care why it's happening now. They just need to suck it up and keep winning. For those who think this team is really as bad as this record in terms of the talent level, just look at the way so many of the teams core players were underperforming as per their career production. That just shouldn't have happened.

Now they seem to have collectively found a bit of chemistry, focus and effort. They just need to keep this up and finish this season off strong.

I agree but let's not forget that they are playing a stretch against the worst teams in the league right now. It will be good for their confidence and hopefully they can find a rhythm, but we are not a good team. I do agree we have severely underachieved for the amount of talent we have on this roster though.

Don't buy this stuff about how we're really better than our record says. After this many games, you are what your record says you are. And our record says we suck. Which we do. Beating three terrible teams in a row does nothing to change that.

Tell that to the 99 Knicks and the Giants. I get what you are saying but it's not like this team has really been trying that hard so they could easily improve from where they are now. Plus they have a stretch of games that will make them look much better than they have.

RonRon @ 3/10/2014 8:56 AM
These are horrible teams that we should be beating
however, with these wins, we are gaining CONFIDENCE, something we have been lacking
The DEF as a whole is the best I have seen this year without Kmart, with STAT/Chandler/Iman and even Tyler's limited minutes

Chandler is involved in effective on both OFF and DEF, in addition to his rebounds
STAT is providing a huge spark on OFF, REBOUNDING, BLOCKS, hitting the 17footer, highly efficient, and is in the best shape we have seen him since last seasons run
Pablo and JR is in their best shape for this season
Pablo has confidence in his shot while shooting a great % on 3pters with great shot selection and is by far the best facilitator, directing the players to the right spots
JR is still far from his top shape he was in last season but he is much better than the start of the season
Iman's stats were not impressive but he had a huge impact on the game with his DEF

Melo is moving the ball and trusting this team mates in addition to him hitting a better FG %
Felton is playing decent and Tyler provides good rebounds and DEF with his mobility/athleticism

Will we make the 7th or 8th seed?
Will we advance, beating Pacers or Miami, unlikely but ANYTHING can happen if we get in, I would prefer making the 6th seed to increase our % to advance...

Things missing...
Only thing missing is Tim Hardaway JR not hitting the shots he was earlier
I would like Murry to regain his confidence and be used in the final possessions to make stops on DEF, rather than seeing Felton or Pablo on DEF
Would also like to see Tyler get more minutes and build on that confidence like Copeland did to close out the season, his combination of athleticism, mobility, DEF, and rebounding can have a bigger impact
Would like to see Earl Clark get more minutes as he is the best SF/PF we have outside of Melo

Build on this confidence and lets just pray for the best, we don't want to hand Denver a lottery pick
Also by winning we gain more value for possible off season trades, especially with Tyson, Iman, and the team as a whole....

Yeah, the last time I laughed at humor like this, it was 1999. And I'd take this starting crew over what went to the Finals that year every dayum skippy day.

Melo - Spree out of position
Chandler - Chris Dudley [please, don't say anything]
Stat - LJ [should've been where Spree was, and LJ was not getting blocks at the rim fellas]
JR - Houston [okay, maybe I give you this one]
Felton - Charlie Football [even the way Ray's played this year, spare me]
